You saved me so much time with this detailed reply. I was going to install windows 11 :) . I had Mac OS Sequoia installed with Open Code legacy patcher.

Which Mac OS do you recommend for Parallel Desktop VM?

I ordered a reasonable priced hub with all ports that I need. Hoping everything will work smoothly.

Again, your help is greatly appreciated

Oh. You can use a different version of MacOS inside Parallels Desktop. But what I was mentioning it for was really just for Windows 10 so you can use the Windows plugins which are not released for Mac because they are iLok'd software titles. Some of the plugins use VMprotect, and have given people trouble inside Crossover hosted Audiogridder instances.

This is what you can get away with running for MacOS versions, because as you probably noticed with Dosdude1's software and OCLP there are still various detailed versions which will work and won't on each MacOS and hardware.

Yes, you can run a different macOS version in Parallels Desktop, but there are some limitations based on your Mac's hardware and Parallels version:

    1. On Intel Macs – You can install and run macOS versions as virtual machines (VMs), including older macOS versions (e.g., macOS Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, etc.).

    2. On Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3) – Parallels only supports macOS virtualized on macOS 13 Ventura and later. Older versions like macOS Monterey or Big Sur cannot run as a VM due to Apple's limitations.
How to Install a Different macOS Version in Parallels:
    • If you’re on Intel, you can create a VM from a macOS installer.
    • If you’re on Apple Silicon, you can only install macOS VMs starting from Ventura.

You are welcome. Funny is that some higher priced docks don't even have that many usb pots but many other ports I don't need :)

I use a M2 version of a hub like this for my M2 Pro mini:
    https://www.amazon.com/AKKYAJAURE-Aluminum-Enclosure-10Gbps-Readers/dp/B0DR8TYQTW/

Uses one single USB-port to power it and I have a 2TB NVME SSD in it for all my sample CDs/Kontakt libs. More importantly the Mini sits on top of it so it looks nice and neat. Cost me < 200 quid for the hub and 2TB drive vs paying Apple 400 to extend the internal SSD to 2TB so a no-brainer.
