That looks like NI Traktor. That's a DJ app.


Serato Scratch had that feature before. That's also a DJ app.

What's your intent of having coloured waveforms?

Are you just looking for a fancy visual effect, or do you actually want to get some information out of the color?
If so, what information?
Music contains many different frequencies. That's why we use colored spectrograms instead colored waveforms: We're able to spot both intensity and location of the different frequencies while still seeing their position on the time axis.

Steinberg Wavelab has a different interesting kind of display - not exactly colored waveforms but a colored spectral view which I've never seen in any other app.

It looks more like he meant to say "amplitude" (volume level) rather than "frequency"(EQ range), if he's using Traktor's display as a reference. Actually I've always loved Wavelab's colored spectral view FFT - nothing compares to that for the use of colors across the frequency spectrum. Wish somebody else would develop something similar, instead of the same old colors right across the range... it really helps to see what's going on in the frequency domain with different colors.

Audacity, Adobe Audition 3&4, and many other apps also have spectral views. Nothing special. A3 allows you to cutomize the colours displayed.

Audition 3 also has Pan and Phase spectral views. This is something unique that I haven't seen in other apps.

 

There's one on FL STUDIO, i think is parametric EQv2...

If nobody knows, no reply with plugins or anything that cant make it.

 

+1 Id really like this same plugin! ive been hacking a version using Oszillos Mega Scope. But i just cant get it to do exactly this.

 

Izotope RX4 lets see all the frequencies plus fix any problems such as hums etc by zeroing in by color.

 

Still looking for a better solution. But this dropped recently.

I'm pretty sure, if I understand what you are looking for, that FreqAnalyst Multi is it or close to it.

 

No this is close but not what were looking for.

Serato has the colored waveforms setup is the color is based on frequency range and the wave transparency is amplitude of the effected bands.

For instance if I wanted to roll of the low end on my synth track I would low cut untill ive erased most of the RED color from the waveform.

This would help a user visualize frequency content of my track as well as monitor the dynamics at the same time.

I made a crude version of what this might look like in ableton with Meldas MMultianalyser. Ive also attached a video of it being used in serato to get a better grasp.
