It's very nice, but the vocal is drowning.

Thank you all for your positive feedback!
zadiac, do you really think the voice is too much in the mix? I don't have that impression, but I have to admit that I'm probably not the best judge. Do you feel the same way about the other tracks?
Citrik Acid, oui, c'est entièrement fait à la maison et auto-produit. (yes, it's all homemade and self-produced.)

It might be a matter of taste, but I don't like the dip in the mid and stereo below 350Hz—there should be a punch and driving energy in that range.

Secondly, the lead vocal is distracting; it feels like it was just drowned in reverb and thrown into the mix without proper placement.

I do understand the artist's vision overall, but I think the mix could be improved—made a bit brighter.

This is just my opinion \o/

Yep, the vocal is hiding in the back of the band, the band unidimensiinal and kind of like a nebulous blob and as well there being no excitement in that 350-500 range. A remix is called for.

    Thank you for your feedback.
I must admit that I don't hear this low-midrange problem on my speakers.
    Can you be more precise?
Do you notice the same problems on the other tracks of the EP?

The EP is already online and it's complicated to replace the tracks, but I'll try to make alternative mixes soon, if only to understand, as I have other tracks in the process of being finalized.

Some of these guys who criticise your mix listen to old-school-garbage — the kind of mixes and productions that make any sensible person in the 21st century cringe — timing issues by the tens or hundreds of milliseconds, or tuning issues. I wouldn't worry about what they think. Those critics should focus on their hearing.

Of course, it sounds great in mono, but if you throw it into Expose2, you can see that the mid and stereo are deeply cut below 380Hz in the EQ. And when you A/B it with reference tracks, it feels like it doesn’t quite match industry standards. But then again, it's a double-edged sword—this actually gives it a unique charm and will resonate with those who appreciate unconventional sound.

Also, I’ve been working in the studio for about 15 years, using dozens of different devices, so I know how sound translates across setups. Plus, I have synesthesia, which means I perceive sound in colors, so I don’t just hear the mix—I see it.

As for criticizing our hearing, that was unnecessary. We’re not trashing it; we’re giving reasoned feedback, dude. Go drink your herbal tea.

And for real, i don't like your avatar. You look like a internet troll.

    You people
Is the mix perfect, would I tweak it a little bit if it were me? Yeah probably. Does it sound fine as it is? Yeah of course it does. It has a perspective, a point of view, it gives a vibe, it's fine. You don't have to have vocals dry and out front like every damn thing on the radio for the last 20 years. I've always liked vocals sitting back in a song as a part of the overall sound. Back in the day the song came on the radio and it sounded like it sounded and you listened to it and that was the end of it- you didn't obsess over it. This kind of thing is why so many people are sitting in front of their monitors looking at frequency analyzers and mixing the same song they've been working on for 5 years instead of just actually putting something out. If it was a truly defective objectively bad mix I'd say differently but it's really not.

Absolutely nonsense. As a matter of fact it's this old school person who's giving it a pass, it's probably modern "pRoDuCErs" who are critiquing it like a engine that rolls off an assembly line and not a piece of art.

I am not an expert . As a novice the first impression I got from listening to it ...as the intro rolls, it reminds me of Richie valens La Bamba :guitarhero:

    There's no need to argue!
I've asked for feedback and I'm glad to get it.
Let everyone express their sensibility (artistic or technical) in good spirits!
We're talking about music, not politics, borders or war!

Ichos, I think that the 60's “joyful” side of this track may indeed bring to mind La Bamba or other songs of the era. I take that as a compliment.

The first 3 tracks have a cool retro vibe. It's a very interesting (eclectic) mix with a somewhat laid-back and casual vocal. Just pay attention to some feedback and/or the possibility of remixing. The overall atmosphere is very fun. I iked it, but I'm really curious: was there anything created by AI in this production?

    Thank you!
No artificial intelligence in these songs, just good old-fashioned human intelligence!
As for possible remixes, given that these tracks will appear on an LP by the end of the year, this will probably be a good time to try them out.
