The standard forum response of "RTFM" to simple searchable questions will soon be replaced by "PTFAI" (Prompt The Fucking AI).

I think its generational too which is a shame that the kids of today have no idea of the joys we had back in the 70s especially the 80s, life seemed quite simple no phones to get lost in but there was so much excitement in music, TV, films, video games.

So many things lost but at least us older folks that were there and lived it have the memories of a fantastic time gone by.

But then again me being hypocritical feeling the limitations of Cubase v2.0 & v3.1 on an Atari ST and then when we got to PC's that could record audio we were like wow...... BUT compare that to today having complete DAWs on our computers, tablets, phones etc I wouldnt want to go back to that primitive time especially in music creation. Oh the struggles we all had with IRQ settings and COM and Serial Ports haha

    Artificial Stupidity (KS)

Even the housefly on the ceiling is more intelligent than the machines. Have you ever thought about why you can't imitate animals? Nature has natural laws and we humans make our own laws, which we usually don't obey. The KI machines should be fed with the right knowledge so that in the end the AI can be asked what the right decision is for a problem.

All libraries and the accumulation of all knowledge, provided that you have paid the electricity bill for your data centre, can be entered into the AI-controlled supercomputer with the name ‘Ask me Ai3762’, so that you as a state or company have access to it.

The last supercomputer, called Aladin, belongs to the company Blackblock, a financial pool of the super-rich, because they want to know where they can still earn something with their invested money in 10 years' time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aladdin_(BlackRock)

Anything that can dumb a person down removing the need to think and problem solve is not for me, I'm too set in the way I was raised. Books were the main source for knowledge, we had to do and learn things for ourselves.

Boomers and Gen X engage in binary thinking, nostalgia bias, cognitive dissonance, and petty cynicism in relation to the ethics and utility of emerging machine learning technology commonly known as AI.

TLDR: old stuff good, AI bad.

All I can say is that Chat GPT made a great setup for my Zoom MS-60B multi-effects pedal. For reals, I would have paid for that setup. Actually, I do. I'm subscribed to Chat GPT.

    TLDR (from AI)

In a recent discussion on AudioSEX, members explored the role of AI in assisting users with their music equipment. The conversation, initiated by StormChaser, revolved around the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI tools in learning and operating audio gear.

    Key Points from the Discussion:

    • Enhanced Learning Through AI: Some members highlighted AI's capability to simplify complex tasks. For instance, Demloc shared their experience of developing a FreePie plugin to send MIDI through a TrackIr device, despite lacking prior C++ knowledge. They credited AI tools for enabling them to undertake this project, which previously seemed unattainable.

    • Concerns About Data Privacy: Lois Lane expressed reservations about AI applications, emphasizing a preference for offline software that doesn't collect user data. This sentiment reflects a broader concern about privacy and data security in AI-driven tools.

    • Skepticism Towards AI Dependency: Some participants questioned the necessity of AI for tasks that could be accomplished through traditional methods. tzzsmk humorously critiqued the reliance on AI for information readily available in manuals, suggesting that such dependence might discourage users from engaging deeply with their equipment.

    • Offline AI Solutions: In response to privacy concerns, Demloc recommended OpenWebUI, a free, offline project capable of running large language models. This solution offers users AI assistance without compromising data privacy.

    • Impact on Traditional Learning: The discussion also touched on how AI might influence conventional learning methods. FrankPig jested that the common forum advice to "Read The Manual" could soon be replaced by "Prompt The AI," indicating a shift towards AI-assisted problem-solving.
Overall, the forum members presented a balanced view, acknowledging AI's potential to aid in understanding and utilizing music gear while also cautioning against over-reliance and underscoring the importance of data privacy.

    Radio said;
Manuals, i.e. paper, used to be standard, but it was discontinued for cost reasons because most users download online PDFs.
The boxes for shipping and CD ROMS have also completely disappeared.

when i was i kid, this movie it really socked me,first.science fiction is one of my landscapes inspirations, second.i was especting extraterrestrials, and guns.
years later,i know what´s all about it,live in a environment such as movies subject, would be one of the worse nightmares.
    manufacturers go for right way.

    Yep! its really psychedelic.

Kinda funny but a lot of these algorithms that drive social media are pretty much mirrors for us. Yeah they are designed to serve us what we want in ads but they are also giving us a reflection of what our online habits are. Good point of self-awareness when you notice it.

Some time ago, a lawyer got Facebook to hand over the data it had stored about him! They didn't do it voluntarily, but Facebook was forced to do it, and he received a whole package of A4 pages.

Google and others know more about you than you think. The snooping software from Palantir Technologies Inc goes a step further and links all data to your actions.

A woman who was pregnant received an email from a discount store that wrote to her based on her shopping habits: we know you're pregnant, we recommend the following products...!

When you're looking for a job, some employers will first look online to see what there is about you. This may mean that you don't get every job or that you get hired straight away.

oh its way deeper than that. https://www.samba.tv/ tracks everything you watch on your tv and knows your habits. You just give it an approval the day you first turn it on.

If you have a smart phone of any kind it knows so many things about you, Movement, location, facial expressions correlating to content through dot projection cameras.

Even street cameras know a lot about us through https://geospy.ai/

We cant get away from the tracking no matter how hard we try. Either we let go and allow our digital self to be farmed and possibly re spawned in a future simulation based on our data footprints we leave behind in this existence or (that was a joke btw) or we curl up and hide away in a cabin somewhere.

Im personally leaning toward my consciousness being turned on again or possibly thats what this experience is right now!!????

As Asimov has iterated, only the priests on Terminus had the knowledge to use technology, but they believed it to be mystical...they had lost the ability of scientific inquiry from depending on technology, losing down the generations any skill in the hard lifting of actual deduction and reasoning. It's happening now to those who are becoming dependent on AI to do for them that they should be capable of themselves. Control F would make a good album or band name.
