I've been decluttering this week and came upon a Symetrix 528E channel strip that I bought for like 50 bucks about 12 years ago thinking that it might sound better than the RME Babyface preamps (shortly afterwards got a Warm Tonebeast which smoked it) that I was using to record with. It really didn't sound better and maybe worse with less detail, different maybe, but not "better". Since nobody will ever probably buy it I had a thought! Perhaps to warm up it's tone, and since the ovens around here are are about 19 inches wide, I have since installed it in the kitchen, and to my great surprise it now sounds really great!!!
