Hi , I have had crossgridder 1.5 working on Intel Mac and Sonoma for a while and it works good for me use it regular. your right some plugs don't work but usually gui issues, sometimes you can't move dials on certain ones. sometimes can get them to work if you can get to OpenGL settings in the plugin themselves,or settings file and toggle OpenGL setting to true if the have one. im using crossover24.0.7 and its cool.just like a native vst on my end in most cases. you will definitely need to install all those Microsoft visual c plus plus dependencies though.Let me know the plugs you want to see if they work ,il let u know if I have them working. Shame he should update it and charge donation because crossover 25 is coming and it has some good graphics updates coming I think. Overall though its the best for real at the min.

There was a request on the prior page for a copy of 1.5. Do you think you could stick a copy of it on Workupload or Pixeldrain? The original thread on the other site contains many links, but they are largely dead. The last real notes left about the graphics issues had been solved for users by the Crossover 22 update; so obviously it has been awhile.

I bet if you were to email the developer DDMF and ask, they would probably be able to give you a list of known working Windows plugins in their plugin. They would have had to test many of them during their programming of the plugin. They should provide that information either on their site or if you request it if you are considering buying their plugin or already have. I'm using a Windows laptop with regular Audiogridder installed on it and my Mac. My 5,1 Mac Pro has 2 ethernet ports so the method I'm using is 100% benefit from the additional resources.
No Crossover, No DDMF plugin, No MS Visual Studio Runtimes to install into a bottle, etc.

This thread got me stoked again so I tried a new approach. I downloaded https://codeium.com/windsurf it uses AI agents to help build code with prompting.

I ran a test to make a mac vst using juce that is a simple gain slider +10db and -100db with a dry wet mix slider. And in a few minutes with it working through the code and errors it built this and told me the plugin was in my vst3 folder.

I was like "no way that worked" I opened up ableton. And boom! It loaded up. Then i was like "well its just a gui and the sliders wont work" then i ran audio through it. And boom!! it worked!!!!!

this is wild how just a idea for a plugin and guided prompt could build this in minutes. Of course this is the early stages of this tech. But think about what this will be in X amount of time! I will keep going at it and see what else it can build and maybe one day the previous posts will actually be a reality!

LMK if anyone wants a PM of this shitty VST i built haha

im pretty sure it only loads plugins native to your OS. VST-AU, AU-VST etc, but those VST's and AU's have to be native to mac. At least, when i attempted this that was the case. maybe they've updated it.

in theory it could be easy. but im out of my depth.

    JUCE has a library
    Wine has a library

they have been able to wrap older versions of plugins on mac through soundradix or rosetta. Just gotta crack the code...........

Audiogridder and the defeat of the current Windows iLok brought the whole approach back to attention. But you are right, there was a method for doing the same thing as far back as 2015. They used a certain Steinberg plugin for it, which has since disappeared. Performance and stability was the same as current variations of the idea. " It works, I guess".

Thank you. I'l put a copy in my mega also. it's basically freeware. Crossover bottles are just files, Audiogridder is free, and people link to microsoft dependency files all the time.

Oh, that could be reasonable to remove from your post but it's not warez or anything. The guy who asked will get a copy anyway. It's not exactly a hot commodity if you look at the github.

I went and bought a 5900X specifically for Audio Gridder for my M1 Mac, so can recommend just buying a PC and putting it in a different room on ethernet and just using it as a plugin loader. Great system!
