What if the original intelligence was in fact machine intelligence and we are simply the result of them trying to create what they considered artificial intelligence within a biological matrix?

you have a choice, if you do not make a choice, you will accept the default.

you can choose not to use your money to engage in transactions with entities using ai technologies. this is called the market place of ideas. Ideas that aren't popular, fail, even when "better" ie Beta video tape recorders, failed even though the tech was better, because VHS could record longer on a single cassette. what people didn't realize was the image quality degraded because of the longer record times, and the thinner tape required to be packed in the same size shell, meant it would jam and stick to the pinch rollers.

still people voted with their dollars for inferior technology.

you can choose not to participate, not to support, not to recommend technologies.

you have a choice, no matter how much they try to tell you that you don't. if choices didn't matter, they wouldn't spend so much time, money and effort on propaganda and advertising (oh but i repeat myself - for they are one and the same)

The only way to disappear without a trace of your online existence is to completely remove yourself from the tiniest piece of digital technology, including phones, and wait between 10-20 years for it to fade into the void.

P.S - The funniest part of my prior post, is the person who disagreed with me when there is 1,000 years of documented, factual historical information and global statistics, proving humankind never learns from historical blunders. All which validate everything I said. Nobody would ever have said History repeats itself if it never did DUH. We can only hope people learned something this time, but I won't hold my breath.

This is the problem with diametric logic, it only leaves 2 solutions, which ignores all the other things it could be.
it can be neither, it can be something we cannot conceive, simply because we are finite, and trying to understand an infinite being or force.

Wasn't meant as a joke either! Humor is when you laugh anyway. My neighbor said the madness in the world can only be endured with humor. As long as there is a way out, there is hope!
You have to stand up sometimes and at least say no or get involved. Just watching won't make the world a better place.

At some point we will die and the children of today will have to solve the world's problems as adults tomorrow. Without an awareness of history and plenty of intelligence, few problems will be solved.

Stupidity is man's greatest enemy. People who start wars and psychopaths belong in prison. People, be smart and refuse to serve with weapons. Support your farmers and go out into nature again without a smartphone, because only nature heals us.

there was a short lived television series by the creator of Buffet the Vampire killer, Joss Whedon, entitled "Dollhouse", which was a dumb name, so alot of people never watched it. in someways it was similiar to "altered Carbon", but it took place in our present time and earth, and it involved swapping personalities or talents and abilities, by reprogramming people's brains.

its starts as a pleasant fantasy scifi that quickly turns darker and more malevolent, it is a warning about "tech" being used to destroy humanity, by humanity. worth a watch. think it had 2 seasons or maybe 1 and a half..

It has a little of the flavor of "legion", but way less mutants..

we can only learn from history, when history is recorded and widely available, much of prehistory is lost, and thats why its called prehistory, it cannot be accessed. the short record we have recorded represents only an instant (5,000 years roughly - and most of that poorly recorded until the last 1,000 years or so) if humanity has existed in its same (more or less) form for over a million years, which some archeology is starting to show.

a million is a thousand thousand. our recorded history is about 5 of these thousand, which is about 1/2 of 1% of our historical existence. So 99.5% of our history is lost or unknown, it easy to make mistakes when you are flying blind relatively speaking.
not exactly a large body of data to understand the world and our behaviours within it.

how do you know the veracity of the material if you accept an intermediary like an AI, rather than examine the book with your own hands and eyes?

ie how do you know ai isn't wrong, lying or editing the source material?

You don't. But for that matter you don't with Wikipedia or the rest of the internet. It's all suspect.

Your point is valid, yet the important fact is as reasoning beings, we have the capacity to see a consistent set of patterns.
Now we have people this century trying to say our way or the highway, more accurately demands or invasion in some cases. If you look at history, the same mentality always yields the same result and it is never good. :(

If we are brutally honest and own our flaws, perhaps a more accurate explanation is some people choose not to learn or think they can do the same things and not make the same mistakes. The reality is we have the capacity and the choice to learn, or the choice not to sadly.
