I cant think what else the problem can be then, because 3.5.2.0 works fine here with all the presets d/l. I did exactly the same as you but without any corruption issues.

Oh... I've had a thought. What operating system are you on?

 

More than likely there's a live internet connection running on that very machine and it pooched the activation. Yet another testimonial for keeping production boxen completely off the internet.

 

Are you still using the VR release? On the VR site, that release of 3.5.2 has a folder which was added to it which is named /anti-ban. Inside is a Windows registry key, and a short note about how the fake email originally used was found and banned/blacklisted by CG. When the Sync feature is used and the plugin communicates with their official website, the email used fails authentication, the plugin is deauthorized, and the presets.db is apparently corrupted at the same time on Windows and maybe also Mac. You could maybe just lock the presets.db file, but that doesn't mean the preset.db file is all that is affected when it fails auth.

Someone suggested using a working email from a specific different release, but it is the same as the one in VR's 3.5.2.

Ok quick update:
The presets don't work (can't be changed) if your DAW and-or cableguyz is blocked from the internet
So I was testing with GigPerformer (this is not blocked from internet) so I could change presets easily if cableguyz is not blocked from internet
but...
With Ableton Live Suite presets don't work because Ableton (for me) is blocked from the internet (even if cableguyz is not blocked presets don't work)

 

I reinstalled Shaperbox 3.5.2 like two weeks ago and got the same License Key expired after downloading the presets finished.

I than reblocked my DAW via Firewall.

Than i went to my AppData/Cableguys Folder and copied out the ShaperBox3 Folder to the Desktop and deleted the database file.

After that i uninstalled ShaperBox3 via Revo and than reinstalled it an moved the ShaperBox3 Folder to AppData/Cableguys and when i opened the VST anything was finally working as aspected.

Hopefully this will help some people to make the install process easier.

 

I can't find it. For me, it doesn't contain that folder. Just the install file. Am I using the real website? Starts with codec...

 

Correct website, but the file is in the Mac release only maybe? I do not think it will matter though. There was a new working version released and the entire structure of the installer looks different. Someone mentioned there was an email that was usable inside a different release. But it was the same one as within the VR release. I wonder how that happens?

 

Hi Guys,

I Re-installed VR version - clicked NO to download presets official notification - waited for few mins - then blocked cableguys.com in host file.

Now, total 639 presets are showing in plugin. Is that fine?

Did I install it correctly, or there are more presets which are be downloaded? - maybe I blocked it too soon.

UPDATE -
Tried all ways mentioned in Previous Replies, Nothing works!
(VR way you will have working license/no noise reverb - if you "update" then you will get noise etc but license expires - then tried editing license key from working to expired but did not work)

Bought it. Hope it works for you guys, else its worth buying. Its very powerful for movement creation/adding dynamics etc.

yeah the 639 presets are stock. if you want more, you have to press the sync button but this will corrupt everything. only way to get more presets is to either install packs individually or have someone send you their shaperbox3-appdata folder, in case it's still working for them. then you have to do the steps I wrote down on page 2. at least that's how i got the presets from my laptop to work. can send you the folder if you wanna try
