I had a friend in NYC that dressed as a very dark and scary clown, and during a gig his thing was to notice some person in the audience that for whatever reason he didn't like and stop playing in the middle of a hardcore metal song and just rip the living shit out of them, tearing them down in the most degenerate way until they either left, started crying or took a swing at him. He was a really nice guy when not in his clown terrorist mode!

I think John Wayne Gacy may have singlehandedly caused 85% of the clownphobia thing. 33-50 victims, third most prolific US serial killer in history... and a clown.

Arrested in 1978, ten years later = media's flood with dozens of movies, songs, books, video games inspired by Gacy; guy created his own genre so to speak.

 

I don't know squat about him, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that he considered his snuff work performance art.

I am dead scared of clown singers haha... Recorded too many of them and it has become a permanent cancerous thorn in my brain. The more i try to suppress it the more clown singers appear and they all think they are the next Bruno Mars or something
