Lothar Antoni (Trance) died on 05.02.2025

Lothar Antoni, singer, guitarist, composer, label operator and known to many heavy metal fans as the frontman of the band Trance, died on February 5, 2025 at the age of 65. With the band just mentioned, he released the albums "Breakout" (1982) and "Power Infusion" (1983), among others, which even made it to higher chart positions in England.

In Germany, Trance was listed as the best metal band at that time, along with the Scorpions and Accept.

But Antoni also had another side and, in addition to his work with the men's choir in his hometown, he composed children's songs for his son, which he later expanded into singing games and children's musicals such as "Kerzenzauber" or "Eva an Erde". Now he has lost his battle against cancer.

Rest in peace, Lothar.
