Has anyone been suck-sex-full with getting a paid version of tonex to work with Amplitude max?
Is it even worth the money when you have NAM and Audio Assault now breaking the bank ?

It's been a while, I won't lie. But it wasn't connected to amp modeling.

 

Tonex is good for the community supplied models.

also, what is that word in your title? sex? never heard of it? is it a plugin? something i can buy? is it cracked?

 

NAM is raising.
Slowly, but raising.
It is integrated in more and more products.
Even hardware.

Ampero 2 is now using it, alongside "whitebox models".
Others are going to integrate NAM soon.
Even paid profilers are making NAM profiles.

To me, NAM is killing ToneX, QC, Kemper ... slowly but surely.

Remember : as usual, the technology between profilers is VERY similar.
Profiles are the key.

I use good MOOER GE200 profiles, and they sound and feel just like a Kemper.
For 1/4 of the price.

yeah my fave besides NAM stuff is monocracy and especially AUDIO ASSUALT, they pushed it beyond now, they integrate nam but their MrShalls cabs are like wow! I now play through their JTM45 (amp locker) and those IRs, they are night and day compared tot heir stuff last year., is this gonna get better? lol

What I was hoping to ask is to buy tonex and use amplitube from the sister site, as I see you can load the community tones into amplitube and use their pedals like audio assault (who only allows IRs cabs ) unless is missed all this and got it wrong.

 

I find IK economic model expansive.

NAM is basically ... free.
And get the job done the same way (even better with some settings).

As there are TOO MANY captures to test to get the tone i want , i prefer more and more (on computer) AmpHub.
Enough amps, white box AND black box combined.
And i can set it the way i want (not like someone else set it).

And still can capture it ... with NAM

Most community captures are pure crap.
Most official captures are crap too.
And it is the same with NAM, ToneX, Mooer ...
Too much time lost finding the so called "gem".

AmpHub was a god send on this side.

To me, paid profilers solutions are already dead with NAM rolling in the background.
And the PRINCIPLE of using "someone else" capture will stop one day.

Whitebox and blackbox are two ways of coding amp sims.

Blackbox is profiling existing hardware or software (Kemper, NAM ...)
Whitebox is emulating existing hardware (Axe FX, Helix ...)

Problem with BB : you can't modify several settings, because you need to do all combinations ... and it is not possible.
Problem with WB : it is less realistic, because you can't code ALL the smallest interactions.

That's why some ppl are pushing both at the same time, like AmpHub.
You capture some parts with blackbox AND add some algos for the settings (whitebox).

try STL AmpHub and you will see

Hotone Ampero 2 is using both SEPARATE whitebox AND blackbox (NAM) amps.
