It depends on the intentions of the manufacturer and the way the AI is trained, but it is unlikely to surpass humans. Also, at what stage can it be said to "surpass humans"? There is also a lot of room for debate.

However, there is a great possibility that it will be able to create things that are beyond human imagination. AI operates on a network that mimics the neural circuits of the human brain, but it is merely an "imitation". Therefore, it cannot create exactly the same things as humans, but it may sometimes create something completely unexpected.

Not to be the party pooper but the technology the population get is 20 years late... sometimes more... there must be something very scary in some lab in the -66 floor down... I will keep making music tho but I know we are a dying breed. I like the WatchDogs possibilities the future will give us despite the dystopia it brings... I think the creative people will always find a way tho. Adapt, survive.

 

How about we humans start making REALLY BAD music so the AI can only mimic pure trash? Oops.
