The 30 day beta trial has been extended until the end of February. I really think this company is onto something with this technology with more to come. Give it a try! Of course they are still tweaking things but the Genesis plugin seems so promising with the way it handles gear captures. Only gripe is that it has to be connected to the internet to instantiate the plugin but hopefully in the future that could be changed.

 

It seems the guys at Analogx are finding ways to have nearly no aliasing in a neural plugin, thus doing away with the need for cpu intensive oversampling! Very cool!!

 

This is probably because recently there's been a couple of guys over on facebook who have developed NAM training resources that have dramatically reduced the aliasing during the capture of gear profiles, right next to nothing. Night and day compared to the original method of profiling. On the public group 'Neural Amp Modeller', they've been fairly active sharing their resources for free.

Pretty neat stuff, this NAM profiling. I've made a handful of profiles (before these newer resources came out). Certainly a gratifying process.

 

Doesn't seem to do anything, can't see any input coming through on the meters. Controls do not effect anything. Went through all the free profiles.

Digital it's a attempt\try to repeat\replicate the original signal. ATTEMPT!

An analog signal is an "event".
A digital signal is a story of a friend of yours frind about this event.
It is not the event itself. It's interpritation!

Make innovative digital sound processing (stem separation tools that can split without artifacts drum track to individual instruments etc), and do not try to exploit analog equipment. You will NEVER replace\copy it with plugins.
Nobody never will record a instrument or voice with a plugin!
We all will record with physical analog mic.

Everytime i see plugins like this i can only imagine how many ̶a̶u̶d̶i̶o̶f̶i̶l̶e̶s̶ ̶ audiofools will be fooled again.

but i like the idea. this plugin should be free. in a way it's better than acustica. very convincing analog sounds i've never heard in the plugin world

Some of these are better than acustica. Most are not quite there yet, but the ones that are, are really good. Not just from Analog X, but from similar products as well. Acustica is working on this tech as well, and has said they will be launching some time soon. I think they are completely revamping Nebula, and allowing for it to load this sort of tech. Hopefully its even more and its an optimized version of the tech that allows you to tweak it as an actual plugin, as they did with their plugins after nebula.

 

oh, i also agree it should be free. If not free, it should come with every snapshot. I will likely buy it anyways, but would probably spend more money if it was free as i would buy more snapshots.

I could not get the beta serial to work, I tried in multiple Daws :-(

 

Make sure you type the serial in by hand and not copy/paste. Also, as a reminder, you have to be connected to the internet to activate as well as each time the plugin is instantiated.

 

Has there been some new progress on capturing dynamic/time-varying processors, or are the "compressor" models in this plugin only distortion and frequency shaping (like regular NAM models)?
