It will probably be available as a software version in a few years.

What does it sound like? The KORG PS-3300 Returns!

    Coveted by who ?

People that are fetishitic about vintage gear and more obsessed about collecting material objects than actually create music ?

Don't get me wrong, this is an absolutely beautiful piece of design and engineering by Fumio Mieda and Korg, but it belongs in a museum.
It will collect dust in Hans Zimmer studio who will use Synapse Audio plugins to make music instead.

    Golden.

    @OffshoreBanking

What people buy or use is their private business. I wouldn't look in your fridge and then tell you that you can't eat it.

A company like Korg produces mainly to finance its employees and to generate some profits.
After market analysis, they determined that there is a target group for the KORG PS-3300 that will spend money on it.

People who have a vintage fetish and are more obsessed with collecting material things than with actually making music? I also know pseudo guitarists, they have expensive collector's items on the wall from famous people, but can't play and show them off to their visitors.

And here, my dear guests, is John Lennon's guitar, oh (now the visitors/guests should or must praise him, otherwise he will be insulted and there will be no champagne and caviar). Collectors and crazy, slightly psychologically disturbed people.

The only one I really would care to covet is Roland VP-550, being a vocoder unique on its own.
Actually, it would be better in vst version if comparable with the hw version.

OK, now that I sold my right kidney I guess that I'll get in on the pre-order list. I know what you're thinking, but to me it's totally worth it.

Really, yeah, if I had money to burn to spend on anything I wanted absolutely I would have one and it would simply be as a fetishistic collection object to masturbate to... I probably would not use it after the first day. Just like the Hans Zimmer example above. It would go in my special P Diddy hardware freak off room next to the Yamaha GX1, an original Buchla and a few other things.

When i heard for the first time ACE, Synth Squad and others amazing zero latency filters, audio rate modulation ... my modular envy stopped.
Same when i tried "Kemper like" amp profilers : Ampero 2 is 600 bucks.
Same with "direct from China" guitars : NK headless 7 string for 700 euros ... instead of 7 000 euros Ibanez.

I can get 99% of the sound for 10% of the price.
    And it is more convenient.

Basically ... i don't care anymore about new expansive amps, guitars ... and synths

It is the same than looking with envy at cars priced like a house : useless

PS : when i listen to the demo, i can do almost the same with virtual modulars ... may be some special "grain" but nothing ground breaking to my hears
