What's wrong with selling some licenses for plugins that were free? I mean, you do it because you want to sell and need the money for x reason, maybe it will be useful to someone because maybe they missed the offer or whatever, I think that if you are going to comment something, do it from a buyer's perspective, not to leave a negative comment, and if you are not interested, skip the post and go. Because not all of us have the same amount of money and opportunities, I also have UAD plugins, among others, to sell, and I do not do it out of maliciousness, I do it out of necessity and to collect other tools that are useful to me, as well as if someone is interested because whatever it is, to give away to someone or because they missed the offer or simply because they fancy another license. Peace.

 

cool. usually what I get that I'm not using, or especially if I get it for free, I pass on to the next guy/gal who needs it or wants it for nothing.

There are a couple of problems with this, although I mostly agree with you. Maybe you setup a dummy ilok account with completely bogus information; but if not there is some obvious data risk there, and then UAD, iLok or whatever other vendor will charge for the simple effort involved in a "license transfer fee". Selling something like this for full price would be shady, or to someone you actually know; but the OP is giving some rando a good price for their time.

 

Yeah, I hear, and agree with what you are saying.. as yeah, things like "transfer" fees are not only a little bs, in their cost (more junk fees like Ticketmaster/airline nonsense), but come with a certain level of possible exposure or fraud etc. so yeah, I've never 'sold' anything I guess, (just given to people I know and whatnot and however) so I don't know the in's and outs/mechanisms as well as I should in that regard to be chirping about it...

 

I have the century strip and its actually quite good, Mixes come together nicely with it on all tracks and it's easy to use. Very good start for a beginner to use. even pros if you like the sound of it.

So yes it was free, but it isn't now.

 

Presumably, it'd be the unactivated code that you put into the ilok app to activate to your account, which wouldn't need a transfer fee of any kind.
