My old laptop is broken and I need a new one. My friends told me Macbook is better in the audio industry due to its processor and also has a longer lifespan. Some said Window has more options for cracked plugin (which I'm relied on) but some also said there's no problem on Mac. My budget is under $2000 and I want to use the laptop to use for a longggg time (5-10 years i think). Should I buy a new Macbook Pro M4 Pro or just buy a Window Laptop (intel core i7-13650Hx?)
I'm using FL as producing DAW and Studio One/Reaper as mixing DAW.

Been a Mac user since 2004 .. never turned back to WIN.
Not a fanboy, but for me MAC it's just easy and friendly to use.
My M1 MAX MBP is a beast btw .. 32gb 1Tb Audio production is flawless almost zero Crash with Pro Tools and Reaper.

Never had any particular problems since 1989 (except when I messed up myself). :bleh:
Go Pro, go Mac and... don't look back. :winker: :metal:

Mac has a better audio driver and a more cohesive, practical UI design. But it's painful to mod, painful to install warez, and already comes with an expiration date since you can't really upgrade components anymore.

Also, expect things to break badly if you decide to update the OS from time to time.

Most of these points don't matter if you have money and are willing to spend on the Apple ecosystem.

Go to a friend who has a Mac and try it, then try something else... you'll soon realise the differences.

This is my personal experience, others may have had their own.

At first, Mac looks great, but after just a couple of years of having it, you'll realise the problem - being stuck with the same hardware and having to upgrade OS, but OS upgrades ruining plugin installations, so you have to upgrade plugins, too and upgrades for cracked plugins are not always available, sometimes even for legal and free plugins. In the end it's just as weird, closed, forcing software upgrades which are not so useful, as Windows, but with Windows/PC you can upgrade hardware easily and it's generally backwards compatible with old programs, plugins and audio hardware.

I prefer MacOS as an OS, but dislike its owners very much.

write the exact specs for the MacBook you could afford to buy,
Apple laptops can actually yield better value than Windows laptops (desktop PCs are different topic for discussion),

check sister site for all the DAWs and plugins you plan to use - if there is a Mac K'ed version then you'll be fine, else not - forget about running Windows K'ed plugins on MacOS (too much hassle and other problems)

You can replace RAM and storage in most laptops. Some even allow for CPU and graphic card replacement. Apple used to do that to a certain extent but somewhere between their Intel/M1 transition they stopped allowing for that.

    mines is MacBook Pro 14 M4 Pro, 12CPU, 16GPU, 24GB RAM, 512GB
and yes, this is my biggest problem. mac version FL Studio can't be found, some of my daily basis plugins aren't there also (@clone told me that they can be used via crossgridder but i have no idea yet).
If the Macbook M4 pro is extremely better (price, performance and durability), I might save up a bit to buy the DAW (but not the plugins, some might be sacrifice)

i'm mac user for 13 years
mac is easy to use and has more user friendly
stable and is a litle bit faster than windows
in the general both OS has pros and cons
choosing between macOS and Windows is depend on yourself
if you're working with Cracked softwares , plugins , windows is better choice

THIS SENTENCE is for some users :
in the general , your music quality is depend on your knowloge and your experinces
in my openion , Windows is better and has a big community
    so , choice is yours

    NOTE :
talk about windows and macOS is unlimted
    each users has own comments

I answered very briefly , good luck

I seem to be an odd one out here. I'll briefly explain my situation:

I was a Mac user for about twenty years, and I switched to Windows about six months ago. I've learned a lot. My Windows system was affordable and an upgrade from my previous Mac system. I have access to almost all the software. My OS is highly customizable, and my machine is flexible. I don't miss Mac. I'm content, and better yet, happy.

My laptop is 13th Gen i9, RTX 4060 GPU and 32 gig RAM, running Win11 Pro. It cost me about $1800 AUD. I couldn't be happier thus far.

First of all, there are two worlds, the Windows world and the Mac world. If you have been happy with Windows so far, you should stick with Windows, then you don't need to completely switch. Happy Mac users will always recommend Mac to you. Happy Windows users will always recommend Windows to you.

It used to be the case that Mac is more stable and faster than Windows, but today with Windows 11 and the new AMD Ryzen processors, Windows is just as stable and fast as Mac.

You can also upgrade the RAM to 32 GB.

I use PC and deal with Macs in most locations I'm booked for. Mac is not more stable. They're pretty much the same nowadays.
If you're coming from PC and know how to setup windows and how to set some security settings to speed it up, you have no reason to go for Mac. If you're more like 'I don't even want to open the settings panel' then Mac is perfect for you.

There is a great reversible cliche:

Never take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from and vice-versa

So get what fills your needs, nobody else's.

    An even better one:

If you want to get the wrong advice, ask everyone.
