Also, if anyone likes stop motion animation, dark and weird, If Tim Burton did the nightmare after fallout.

I like to turn it on and fall asleep to the audio.
I also enjoy watching it on mute while I play music.

been a while since ive felt like doing one of these; but im back with another excellent horror movie, the Robert Eggers remake of the horror classic: Nosferatu. im usually meh on remakes but Robert Eggers is a great director, i love his gothic style and use of imagery and atmosphere; whether its The VVitch, Lighthouse or even his action packed nordic film The Northman, guy really knows how to make a film. this remake of the classic is no different; id actually consider it the definitive version of this movie

it does everything better than any other remake of this off brand of Brad Stoker’s Dracula. the original 1920’s version was a silent film of course, with sometimes annoying music but very entertaining. here he captures that same silence in the way it uses this chilly eerie-ness that this film is drenched in, very great idea that translates that silence in a clever way. he takes the atmosphere of the 70s version and his style of film does it way better. of course this is spoiler free but its pretty much follows the original story; but everything is executed so much better, everything about the other two is done better here. this is what a remake should be

fantastic acting from everyone, the set pieces, the costumes; im usually against CGI in horror but Robert uses it in such a great way, while still have needed practical effects, makeup, etc. but this is a whole world that i felt like i was in. i always say that acting in horror films is often overlooked; its not different here. its an amazing remake. i still respect the original for the impact its had on horror; but this is the one to watch from a director whose killing it right now. i went to the theaters twice and saw this

    Watched this last weekend,

Squaring the Circle, the Hipgnosis story

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10850264/?ref_=fn_all_ttl_1

    imdb rating 7.7

an interesting look at the people behind so much album art of the 1970's. Including the Dark Side of The Moon cover and Atom Heart Mother amongst many others.

Fully agree with Grape Ape's comments on Nosferatu. Very good indeed.
I also really liked this drama/horror about a shipwreck in Iceland. Shot in Iceland (plus Ireland, Belgium and the UK). Chilly stuff. Some good scares. Reminded me of The VVitch (Robert Eggers). Stars Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders, Gangs Of London) and Odessa Young (was in the excellent The Order).

I preferred "The Danged", as it seemed less coarse, and had of course much less swearing and obscenity, also it all took place in a warm and cozy house and most peoples were killed in the basement as is traditional in modern film, usually checking the fuse box.

Get Away (2024). Nick Frost (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz) and Aisling Bea.
Great fun horror with some good laughs and gore. I enjoyed this one.

It seems like the anime works are fine too, so I'll post them.
Speaking of anime that became a hot topic last year...it can't be helped without introducing it.
