The problem is you can't activate it anymore after Novation turned the activation system off. The only way is R2R's "alternative solution". Also, anyone thinking about doing this, I recommend finding the alternative V-station skin too, as it makes the GUI a little bigger and cleaner.

At the time, we wondered why they gave up on it, but it makes sense now that they made a deal with GForce to develop new plugins.

I got the free version when I had bought a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB many ages ago, and when I wanted to re-activate it after a few years on another computer with a different operating system it didn't any longer activate...I was not happy.

 

Thats why groups like R2R are of real value imho. In may 2025 steinberg will make my elicencer dongles worthless by stopping the servers. Authorizations that need a server should be forbidden!

V-Station & B-Station Plugins no longer available

Please note, it is no longer possible to access or activate the V-Station / B-Station plugins. We released the last version of these plugins in February 2020 and then ceased development support. We have since become aware of a number of critical issues on modern operating systems, such as issues with display and activation. We have therefore taken the decision to no longer make these plugins available.

 

just tried this plugin. surprisngly great sound.. also the filters sounds good.. and distortion fx

 

I haven't seen this for ages. I use the Branis skins for mine, and way better (if you prefer the more Bass Station II look). I use the Bass Statiion skin and the Peak skin for V-Station.

How is the Mk4 Launchkeys?

I'd been eyeing up the Launchey Mini Mk4 as a potential replacement for my Arturia MiniLab 3. Nothing wrong with the MiniLab 3 and I do love it, but just getting twitchy about new gear and the extra keys wouldn't be a bad thing

 

I have been used to basic MIDI controllers in the past (Korg K49 and Oxygen 25) and decided to go with something that feels more like a keyboard, rather than the plastic feel. I saw a few reviews on the LaunchKey Mk4 49 key and every single one of them was more than positive.

I have to say, this is a damn fine piece of hardware. The semi-weighted keys makes it feel like a premium piece of kit, it looks and feels professional enough to make me happy playing on it. The absolute game-changer for me is that it integrates seamlessly with my Ableton workflow, and the added bonus for me is that is has built in scales, chords and a nice arpeggiator.

 

Yeah, same feature set as I normally look for, being an Ableton user and someone with mediocre music theory knowledge despite being self taught at various instruments over a 35 year period
