Korg multi/poly native, the reimagined Mono/Poly Synthesizer now as a plugin - January 16, 2025

NAMM 2025: Korg multi/poly native is the plugin version of its reimagined Mono/Poly Synthesizer digital hardware Synthesizer.

Although NAMM 2025 has not yet officially started, Korg has already announced three new Synthesizer products: the new Kronos, the miniKORG 700SM, and the multi/poly as a module/desktop. Korg also announced a fourth purely digital synth.

Korg has just released the multi/poly Synthesizer as a native plugin for macOS and Windows.

Korg multi/poly native

Multi/poly native is the plugin version of the multi/poly hardware Synthesizer. It mirrors the integral engine and offers the same features as the hardware. This includes:

• up to 60 voices
• four layers (4-time multitimbrality), each with a separate program, for dynamic layering and split sections
• each program with four oscillators (Classic, Digital, and Waveshaper types)
• noise generator and ring mod for added sonic complexity
• dual-modeled filters with audio-rate modulation (M/Poly, MS-20 lowpass/highpass, Minimoog…)
• layer rotate for evolving sound variation
• four loopable DAHDSR envelopes with different modeled versions (Mono/Poly, MS-20, Odyssey, Mini, Pro, Linear…)
• five LFOs
• six mod processors per program
• • motion sequencing 2.0 (parameter animation) for complex, per-voice modulation
  • Kaoss Physics with a dedicated hardware touchpad for interactive, hands-on modulation
  • portamento models: Constant Rate, Constant Time, Vintage Linear, Vintage Mini, Vintage Exponential, Vintage MS-20
  • over 5,500 modulation destinations
  • three studio-quality effects per layer plus master reverb and parametric EQ
  As with the other native versions, you can create patches in the plugin and transfer them to the hardware or vice versa.
  
  First Impression
  Not only was the Korg multi/poly desktop in the air, but the native version was as well. Since Korg already has plugins for the other digital synths, it was only a matter of time before it also came out for the DAW. Great news so even more people can discover and use the engine.
  
  Korg multi/poly native is available now for $199. Existing hardware users can purchase the plugin for $49,99 with a coupon. They run as a 64-bit only VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (Intel + M1) and Windows.
