Loopcloud has been crashing for me since version 6 and continues to do so. The crash thing is random. The software is very slow, showing only 100-200 samples at a time, and the web version is laggy, with search results that are occasionally foolish and irrelevant. It occasionally fails to identify loops from oneshots and is a subscription disaster. The developers seem more concerned in selling samples than improving reaction time and reliability; the dang thing has been buggy for years.

gotcha... yeah, I'm not interested in buying samples or lifting warmed over loops that the creators deemed not good enough to keep for themselves off a splice type thing myself... I'm just looking for something that would help make a little more sense of my own house and the terrabytes of samples I have personally made or taken over decades .... or at least expedite things... but it's not that big a deal I guess if it's dropping into a subscription for it (and I don't like, and sometimes simple CAN'T (due to nda's, dignity, and discretion) upload the stuff to some cloud service.... I need something local.... or at least under my control... so Loopcloud doesn't seem to be the thing for ~me~ I guess...

Seems like it provides some cool things and services for many, I'm not dissing it on that front... just unfortunately doesn't hit the boxes... so it looks like Sononym is probably more what I should be looking at, and lord, who knows how long these processes can take depending on library size... will have to see...

I used too but they got very greedy and I'm using it offline with my own samples for quite few years, PM me if you want to know how to do it yourself.

To be honest, that is the best way to write music really fast, with the tools you really know. Unfortunately I'm on the other side, I became a samplepacks hoarder with over 3.000.000 samples:crazy:

Yes you can but with your own samples and only in wav format, also your DAW has to be offline or block loopmasters-loopcloud all together from the host file. PM me if you need help.

There is a way to use all features for free but only offline with your own sample library, PM for more info.

XO is great if you can get past the initial scan, if you are talking about a couple terabytes on the drive. It's like watching a Windows virus scanner. :suicide:

ha! thanks for the laugh.... yeah.. I thought XO was primarily or ONLY based on drum sounds/beats etc.... not other material, and watching a fairly recent comparison video between the main players still had me thinking that... is that not the case?

I started using that prior pandemic, but got sidetracked and never followed through.... but yeah... sigh, lol, we are talking about more terabytes here than I'd like to admit, as I'm honestly a bit embarrassed as a digital hoarder (despite the fact I have 'rationalized' reasons for it all!:no: ).

    So it goes....

Well shit, an actual dev that's awesome. I'm going to subscribe, it seems solid and I definitely need the organization. I don't care about dowloading any packs, I got like terrabytes of packs lol. I have my old packs from nearly 20 years ago still I got off my old computer. All the old Ueberscall, Loops Masters etc.

well, I started real young...;),... but I was sampling back then with an Ensoniq Mirage (awesome hexadecimal display for truncating!) and an Emu Emax lol.... so yeah, lol, back then there were not sample packs, let alone sample cd's etc, (soon a few to come!), so it was a lot of work... and floppies (!) and there was no splice or 'banger packs'...... but early adopter of SoundDesigner and Tubosynth editing/messing with stuff and then porting stuff back from an old Mac se... Back then if you wanted an 808, you sampled your buddies... and nicked snares and whatnot noise off cd's/vinyl or even radio...sigh.. those were the days....

(but yeah, I was collating some old drives a few months ago and found files with modification dates from damn 1989.... :guru::cheers:)

Still happy with the ADSR Sample Manager.
Since i only like the Sample Browsers from Ableton and FL.

    ADSR Sample Manager
And when you want to get more creative XO.

But ja, the best is to be organized in your filesystem ^^

I apologize for bringing back Reaper DAW again, but its built-in Media Explorer is the best sample organizer :shalom:
