Forgive me if this is old news for most of you but it's new to me. If you select Albania as your VPN country you won't see any ads on Youtube because they haven't implemented Albanian language ads yet. I tried it and it works.

 

I use uBlock Origin on my PC but I couldn't find a way to block ads on the Youtube iPad app. Doing this accomplishes that.

Regarding supporting the creators, that's all very well but Google has swayed the balance too much towards ads than the actual video, ads are getting longer with no way to skip them and there's more and more of them.

 

Brave browser should work on iPad. Although, it's not as smooth to use YT through the browser as it is to use the app. I'm guessing that you can use the app without ads if you set the VPN to Albania?

EDIT: Just noticed that you said that using VPN set to Albania also blocks ads using the app. That's really nice.
