I haven't seen an update to this topic since 2021 so I figured I'd ask what you all use to manage your sample packs etc. I've been opening the packs and dragging to Windows Media Player but surely theres an easier way to view and listen to your samples?

That's exactly what I need a mouseover without having to open each sample.

 

for some reason mine isn't working with the mouse over.. is there s setting or option?

yeah, it sucks I don't think they want to new apple silicon with that unfortunately as well.... sigh...

 

Tried several options over the years, sample librarian, the ADSR Sample Manager, an early version of the resonic, sononym, samplesort, i have XYPlorer as my main driver for browsing files and does the job fine for previewing samples but not so much organizing. The best sample librarian is Loopcloud by far!!!

 

I agree with the last comment. Loopcloud, offline with your own libraries and previewable in real time in any DAW with the plugin. Great for happy accidents

 

I only use the free version does everything I need.

 

Loopcloud, no contest. I haven't even opened my DAW's sample browser since I installed LC.

 

I've given up trying to find a sample manager that I can live with. The closest one was COSMOS by Waves of all the companies, but it's clunky.

So I just use Ableton's browser, a sensible naming scheme (for me anyways), and the similarity search.
