This video could maybe help... The guy who does the Cubase Help videos is an expert so if you cannot find help here then he may respond in the comments section and be able to assist.

or maybe Chord Pads may already do what you're looking for

Search the https://cubaseindex.com/ for video examples of MIDI transformer, and anything else Cubase related, taken from the streams on YouTube every Tuesday and Friday.

I am trying to solve this, I am not sure it can be done but lets try some tweaks. I have good hopes

I did this quick first steps

-transform all the notes that FROM Cmaj to Dmin needs 1 TONE up (i.e. C-D-F-G)
-transform all the notes that FROM Cmaj to Dmin needs 1 semiTONE up (i.e. E-A-B)

so I compiled these 2 presets, but dont work 100% because they are "subsequents", we should put em in the same Transformer with some kind "IF" conditions. They work "one at a time" actually.

go start from this point and lets see if you can find a final solution, hopefully I will have more time to try later today

Anyway, I confirm that cubaseindex is a great resource, you could try also to send an email to Greg Ondo, send him my screenshot as a starting point.

have you tried using the Midi Modifiers plugin in the midi plugins section in the inspector?

the modifiers are cool but doesnt "transform" the C major scale C D E F G A B in D minor natural D E F G A Bb C, it works "matching" any "wrong note" you play with the right notes. It can be part of the solution though

from what I understand he wanna play C major on the keys and record in D minor natural

    C - D
    D - E
    E - F
    F- G
    G- A
    A- Bb
    B- C

I guess thats what hed like to do (so its not a "transpose button on the keyboard")

Ah, I use Komplete Kontrol for that I must admit.... :)

Edit, but if that's the case and, say the OP wants to just use the white keys... why not start on A ,the relative minor rather than C the major...? That's just adding complexity for no reason.

Its a mystery, but using Komplete Kontrol as a wrapper will solve that issue.

alright, so I'm guessing the transform actions apply once for the notes that match the filter?

Apprarently the inbuilt transpose to scale that cubase has in the editor or midi modifiers doesn't do what I'm requesting. It only shifts wrong notes which make some notes in the scale repeated. The way I want it, is how I have described it, as replied by @patatern

Ok, I see what you guys mean, same issue in each way of doing it. Ok my apologies.

Not sure why you want to change from a Major key to a Minor one, when in order to use the white keys only you just need to play in Am not C Major but perhaps you want to change the mood of the song... Anyway if we leave that behind. I know for certain that Komplete Kontrol does this no problem, and its free.. Just host a VST inside it so you can hear what your doing, and use the play features to set your scale and record the midi output to another track. Job done.

Okay I think there are definitely ways around this eg. scaler but they all don't provide the easy user experience i need (i.e either have to do some routing rather record directly to track... with the input transformer i have something ongoing but requires me to load two presets in the transformer (I'm trying to that in one preset call).
I think I be will getting one of these novation launkey midi keyboards to solve this problem.

yes! this is the most close solution to what our friend needs, we just have to apply it in the Transformer presets I did

Obviously it means that the center "key" is A and not C, but I think that it is 99% whats needed actually, but this can be also solved with ANOTHER transformer instance with an easy "parallel transpose" ehehehe

cant try right now, will give a look later
