R.I.P. - Sam Moore passed away on January 10, 2025

"Hold On I'm Coming" was the first hit by Sam & Dave, who were also called Double Dynamite because of their appearance.

The duo were successful representatives of the so-called Memphis Soul and Dave Prater had to wait a long time until his mate Sam Moore was back at his side. Dave died in 1988 and their song "Hold On I'm Coming" can now be described as 'complete'.

The two split up in 1970, but made music together again in the same decade. Things really continued with the success of the Blues Brothers film. The film featured the music of Sam & Dave and John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd covered the music as well as the Sam and Dave show. If you know the film, you'll know where the aka Double Dynamite comes from.

Samuel 'Sam' David Moore later worked with Lou Reed and Bruce Springsteen, among others. In 1992 the duo was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Sam Moore died on January 10, 2025 as a result of surgery. He was 89 years old.
