There are times when recording that I like to sing and play keys at the same time. For years I was using a Novation controller, but the way I play what was picked up on the mic sounded like a ball peen hammer tapping on plastic. I tried out what was available at the stores locally and got an Arturia Keylab MK II. It doesn't feel cheap like most else that I literally had my hands on, the wheels are quality solid, the keys and pads although not silent as an owl hunting under the darkness of a new moon, are wayyy quieter that the rest. The semi-weighted action is good, and although don't use them, Arturia bundles in a few of their instrument offerings. Since your affordability factor seems to have been upped this might fit in your budget. I have the 61 key size but of course the 49 shouldn't empty your wallet completely and come in under your budget.

    nonsense

every keyboard player uses a colored led light in their studio, and it changes the color of everything. I myself favor a red light in my studio,
it either makes it look like an old school darkroom, or a whorehouse, depending on your mood.

I think the original black and white keys look very good! I don't like the keys in the picture at all - too dark!

LOL I do listen and read too. I'm just stubborn and when my minds on something I have to have it lol. That video showing me how easy it is to remove stems with MPC software and right on the hardware device has me in love lol. You know how hard it was to remove vocals cleanly back in the day without the tinny sounds of the hi-hats etc? Hell how hard it was to even find a clean acapella, and now you're telling me you have every track on a different channel and all you ahve to do is turn a knob? There were websites where people would sell the acapellas, and probably still are. We used programs like Acid and Sound Forge etc. but you could never get a clean sample and the volume would be fucked up too because of all the filters you applied and cutting the bitrate etc. you had to do. Most tracks the vocals were never on a seperate channel either, you'd try to extract a vocal and then in the end you still hear the beat its just real low and tinny.

I like my MPC live 2, still learning it, but the portability and build quality is great.. I pair it with Arturia minilab mk2. I also have 2 analog synths with CVs, but I haven't tried that stuff yet

You should try Hit N' Mix RipX, or one of the browser based AI options. It never even needs to leave your computer. Serato Sample 2 also does it, as will all modern DAWs soon, if they do not already.

I was using Korg microkey 25 the one not the later Bluetooth version
I was use it for 3 years composing and I would say in the last year I felt the limitation of having only 2 octaves is not helping my creativity anymore and it's limiting on performing and writing melodies and solos even chords too!
Even tho that korg microkey25 had built in arpegatior and it was very cute and nice feeling design and keys
I switched to NI komplete M32 as my mini keyboard in the studio...
And my master keyboard is a old umx61 that sits on the desk...
Anyway my other suggestion would be the microkey 37
Otherwise I would suggest the Complete m32...
About the other keyboards you post
    I never touched them...
I just knew the impulse series feels like a real keyboard along with the native instruments...
About the Other ones I really don't know...:):guru:
