There are times when recording that I like to sing and play keys at the same time. For years I was using a Novation controller, but the way I play what was picked up on the mic sounded like a ball peen hammer tapping on plastic. I tried out what was available at the stores locally and got an Arturia Keylab MK II. It doesn't feel cheap like most else that I literally had my hands on, the wheels are quality solid, the keys and pads although not silent as an owl hunting under the darkness of a new moon, are wayyy quieter that the rest. The semi-weighted action is good, and although don't use them, Arturia bundles in a few of their instrument offerings. Since your affordability factor seems to have been upped this might fit in your budget. I have the 61 key size but of course the 49 shouldn't empty your wallet completely and come in under your budget.
