Hello, i'm just wondering what you add or do to your final mixes to make them sparkle.I know there's loads of saturation/glue/transparent compressors/limiters vsts etc.. But i hear on some funky house tracks a wishy washy noise or is it reverbs....What do you add to your final mix? or just add reverb/freeze/delays to vocals/drums etc.. or maybe layer with noise fx if your mix sounds a bit dry?

I like his statement at 0:18. "I can use what you're gonna use."
So the whole video became pointless, because it really doesn't matter? :dunno:

I just started using this trick, it does make a big difference In. Balancing your track out, it definitely give you a great starting point.

Try this plugin, it's based on pink noise mixing approach and it's free for quite some time now, great stuff and you don't have to listen to noise at all.

It's only about the analog devices, not about specific settings for them?

Yes, if you change the device you change the setting. And if you only use 2 devices, or even just one device like me, you gotta change everything. And if he can work with this setup as well, it does not matter what he is showing (off).

I rarely use reverb and never use pink noise. I use white noise for calibration though, but that is a different topic.
For sparkle I rather attenuate things in order for the highs to come through. You can even "add sparkle" with a simple tilt EQ.
