I do..
I copy the program description (using cut & paste) from the sister site when downloading programs, paste the description and pertinent comments into wordpad (cause it makes useable hyperlinks, unlike notepad) and any personal notes I want to add like why the fuck I want this program etc. and save it in a folder with the program. I name it "About.whateverprogramneamehere.rtf."

sometimes if I'm ambitious I print it as a pdf as well I like Bullzip Pdf Printer, and stuff that in the folder as well.

also handy for cutting and pasting recipes, from websites, yeah I cook my own food....
I used to just print from pdf but too many ads and shit, make a 1 page recipe into a 27 page pdf

also handy for putting together lists of interesting links when perusing internet archive, for future reference.

Wordpad has its time and place, just like notepad and its replacements

 

Agreed on the image quality, they need to rip my CRTs showing PCX and BMP files from of my cold, dead hands.

 

I also find it handy to cut & paste playlist from 2 or 3 hour music streams on youtube, the ones with the timestamps so I can find out what I just listened to. I save those in the folder with the program stream and notes (date of broadcast,channel, etc)

I'm building my own programmable radio station (fm and intranet) for the house, gonna try RadioBoss as the playlist manager and insert old audio books and music, I can no longer tolerate over the air radio as its absolute shiite.

some of these youtube streams are topnotch, for jazz and lofi, and japanese lofi and pop..
