Advice on purchasing my first Control Surface (aka - mixer console with faders)

    I have been using a UA Volt 4 76P Audio Interface for recording in my home studio. My DAW is Pro Tools 12.5. I am learning mixing/mastering and the more I learn the more I want fader control instead of arduous mouse clicking/dragging. I will be mixing songs/score, and film audio (dialogue, SFX, Score). Do you have any recommendations for a control surface that would work best for me around $1,000?

    not being able to use automation items is a problem of ProTools

    then do think about how many motorized faders you need simultaneously

    AVID control surfaces work best with ProTools because AVID is not letting anyone else to use EuCon protocol,
    older AVID ArtistMix is fine,
    newer AVID S1 I'm not sure it's backwards compatible with old PT 12.5

    Thank you! I figure I need about 12-16 faders. Didn't know that about Avid Control Surfaces.
