Whats the point of the Mark Ronson series on Apple Tv?

I mean who's the audience? Whats it for?

I've watched the first 5 episodes,and I'm underwhelmed. I got one episode left to put in the bag this weekend I'm sure it will be just as good/mediocre as the rest.

It gets an 8.0 on the IMDB site, but really its shite. An episode on reverb, that would be good for a martian who landed on earth and didn't know what reverb was. An episode on sampling that is Ronson jerking off on camera with a sampler, etc..

I'm sure big money was spent on this affair, but to what end? I've seen more informative youtube videos, and more entertaining.

Probably a great show if you are 12 years old and don't which end of a mouse to click, but why did Apple greenlight this turd?


Best thing was a few scanty scenes with Amy Winehouse and a short discussion of horns.

Have you ever watched a documentary on how the pyramids are actually ancient power supplies built by aliens? Or a guy going around the world in a quest to find the best bread recipe ever (which is probably alien influenced too)?

Well, that's the audience for these kind of things i think. People who are curious about a topic but don't really want to get into too much detail.

 

so for people who are curious but not very curious and have short attention spans?

I watched the big finale, episode 6. Distortion.

Underwhelming, Dave Grohl is apparently retarded and so fits in well with Mark Ronson, who is so full of drugs, his go to dialogue line is "yeah". You can stand it though, if you just drink a shot of any liquor whenever Ronson says "yeah" in his monotone.

Its funny, the actual content is like a bad youtube video, Ronson hacking up a speaker cone with a razor knife to make it distort, like a 5 year old, picking some prime band like the MC5 and playing 2 seconds of it before wandering onto some other shiny object, attention span is like a childs, but then they run the credits and its more people than fought in all the Napoleionic Wars combined.

It takes an army to produce a pile of crap this bad? Unreal. If you haven't seen this series, do yourself a favor and skip it...

 

Thank you for telling me about the content of the last series. I now have the impression that the idiotization of entire sections of society is progressing. Good experts are very rare and they belong to a dying breed. In short, the dumbing down is in full swing, well, the main thing is that the profits from the series exceed the production costs.

i find the history of Roland fascinating, Sound on Sound, or Keyboard or somebody did a retrospective across several articles on the anniversary of the founding. Guy was a self taught radio repairman in post war japan. amazing story, and some amazing products..

 

good points, and it may be all about the dollars, but how do they monetize that turd? One funny point, was Ronson talking about sampling and mentioning his total lack of understanding about copyright, and using a bunch of samples in a song, and due to the copyright holders taking legal action he wound up owning -15% of the song, so everytime it gets played he actually has to pay out of his pocket, more than the song makes in reproduction fees. what a marooooon................ Its like reverse payola and taxes combined. if it had been a big hit, it would have bankrupted him...

Yeah idiocracy has come to the music world, zombies pushing buttons, kinda like the room full of monkeys creating shakespeare.

yeah, I gave up television in 2006... The smartphone is the modern television on steroids, it tracks everything you watch, for how long, what time of day etc including gps location. It feeds you more of the same until you are a bundle of mediocrity,frustration and madness, and people pay for the devices and the propaganda, er I mean programming...
