To the master puppeteers of the digital realm, cunning artisans who weave chaos with a mere touch of the keyboard, wearing the “idiot’s hat,” not as a burden, but as a crown of mischief, orchestrating endless symphonies of replies from their unwitting audience, with their unmatched artistry (a magnum opus of vague provocations, half-baked statements, and the strategic deployment of just enough nonsense to ignite a firestorm in any debate), without ever forgetting their pièce de résistance: vanishing into the shadows when confronted with logic or evidence, leaving behind a trail of exasperation and unanswered questions:

Here's to you, Audiosex trolls, virtuosos of vexation, poets of provocation—may your threads be closed swiftly, and please receive this humble tribute to you:

    :headbang::phunk::metal::grooves::boombox::cheers::excl:

And not to miss the chance, here’s a tip for a full historic show (an excellent album renowned for its memorable solos, outstanding guitar tones, drums, and backing vocals):

"Why do some people like and promote pineapple pizza?" :winker:

'cause they just can't get enough of eating it and feel promoting it like a sort of mission. Anyway my personal taste about DAWs are mine and mine only (process flow, instruments, effects, features etc) and they are yelling at the Moon.

Yeah, you don't need to know C, C++ and Assembly, along with boolean, linear and abstract algebra, trigonometry, differential equations to write soft like Reaper. All you need is:

I hear you are leaving soon. Is it true? Please bless us with more knowledge of "complex things on tracks". Your infinite trol... err... i mean wisdom will forever shine the light of truth. Which is there is a parallel universe and you are a Sith shapeshifter that came from there to annihilate the good citizens and Jedi knights of this virtual hangout. Speak now Fart Fader of the Dark Side!

I’m amazed that no one has mentioned the most perfect DAW yet—Audacity. :P

Sonic Foundry Acid DJ v1.0 crew checking in, yeehaw. Runs fine on Win 98 with my Pentium 133/64mb RAM. I can run up to 4 individual tracks before my soundblaster starts stuttering like my second cousin Cletus. Now THAT'S cpu optimisation.

Fuckin' toys, all of those. Fastracker 2 could run 8 tracks easily on a 486. Sure it was limited to whatever 8-bit vomit a SB could push out, but still.

Really, I use it all the time for my serious stuff that win blows can't do.
Now how can you seriously say none of that counts? How can you get to the internet, How could the internet exist with out Linux.
Now I will tell you this in the real word Linux rules, windows can run a serious network like Linux can. Example The internet.
You are making very bold statements like a rookie, and you really have no experience.
Now I guess clicking on Icon under Linux is totally different than wind blows. Not!!!

I'm not saying that those applications don't count I'm saying they don't count in the scope of the argument. You don't understand the point the other guy was trying to make. Or me either for that matter, obviously. It's like somebody saying oh, this band isn't very important in the grand scheme of things and you trying to counter by saying "but they're played in elevators and malls all over the world."

It's like arguing over which brand of oven you own, conveniently ignoring that while a few exceptional people are making delicious, mouth-watering dishes of a remarkable standard, the majority are heating up a stodgy, flavourless ready meal; and even more conveniently forgetting that it all ultimately ends up being shat down the metaphorical toilet. And fundamentally, if you disregard texture, a constipated turd isn't that much different from a bowl-splattering bout of diarrhea.

All while OP is sitting there grinning stupidly with a full diaper.

Funfact: ACID easy interface was an inspiration for first Reaper versions, which was very misleading for me and I underestimated it as ACID clone for a long time :)

    Very true.
When Acid Pro @ Sony was on a stall for a good 8-9 years, with no new version and every other audio soft being upgraded to 64bit, most frustrated Acid users wanting a 64bit alternative, abandoned ship jumping to either Ableton Live or Reaper. Live was already inspired by Acid and Reaper was quite the lookalike and the fact you could get it to do realtime timestretch with loop material like Acid, helped a lot of users transition from Acid to Reaper. Of course similarities ended there, Reaper ended up being a different beast and a full fledged DAW of its own magnitude. Personally, i strongly love Acid's workflow as nothing else comes close to the speed it provides when laying down ideas and more or less i'm familiar with all DAWs, but each to their own i guess heheh. I will not start another trolling thread here.
    Cheers
