So by around 27 december i will have 240 euros enough to either buy the reason 13 upgrade ( i only have a legit license for reason 12 no other daw ) or the soundtoys 5 bundle Reason has been my main daw for years and i really hope version 13 adds support for nexus 5 but soundtoys is a one time purchase and while you have the licenses on the ilok usb and the ilok installer there's no need to reauthorize compared to reason where you have to reauthorize every 11 months what would you choose ? im loosing my mind right now please help me decide thanks

 

This is a purely personal choice. Given your investment of time & money, a decision has to made whether or not to carry forward with Reason at this point, wait until the next major release or move on to another DAW. What is more important to focus on at this time for you? The tool for creating music or the tools used to manipulate what you have created?

 

May I enquire as to why is one not considering saving up and purchasing a legit copy of "without a doubt the best daw available" ?????

Not sure anyone can answer whether you should buy a full daw vs an effects bundle, but I'll give it a try...get the Soundtoys bundle then download Reaper for free

 

I dont know man honestly i dont like having to reauthorize something i paid for and the very real possibility of losing over 1k euros if reasonstudios goes out of bussiness then i doubt i will ever make money from my music so i could just buy the soundtoys bundle crack ableton or fl and be done with it but what if by miracle someday i make an amazing song and i sell it and i dont have a license for the daw i used exactly i could even go to jail to answer your question i mainly record my vocals and add them to free beats i find online so soundtoys would be the clear choice but i also make my own edm tracks from time to time

 

I will give you an easy answer becouse that thing is 600 usd maybe in 2 / 3 years i could save for it but then that new version wont be compatible with my ancient pc music is really an expensive hobby what a pity downloading reaper and buying soundtoys sounds like the way to go but i will probably crack ableton or fl and buy soundtoys i hate having to reauthorize

 

Soundtoys. I read somewhere they give some money to charity from each sale. You'd have to verify that for yourself. It certainly seems like they will not be showing up on sister site anytime soon.

But you can use those plugins in any DAW you will ever use. Reason is a relatively "closed" environment. Even if I was a Reason user, I would still have a linear DAW on the machine. Probably REAPER for mixing.

 

I understand...You could move over to a totally free DAW that is a cousin to Ableton Live & Bitwig, Waveform 13. Can be upgraded in stages via modules/expansions or totally Pro. Currently available for $99 U.S. according to email this morning (normally $199). Has 30 day no bs trial.

 

The reason 13 update is right now at 79 dollars, You can also check knobcloud for a soundtoys license, there are some good prices

thing are tough everywhere and getting worse, in my opinion hang onto your money and wait. see what happens in the next few months or more, you might find the money might be needed for something really important. This is the same advice I gave to my grown kids and they were really thankful. The money might prove extremely useful in an emergency or even for the deal of a lifetime, trust me. If you aren't making any serious money with the software you have, don't waste any other money on more, make do with what you have, getting another software won't make you an instant success, it just may leave you with an empty pocket and regrets. well, then if you're up for using cracked software then just go ahead and buy soundtoys because that's not properly cracked and IMHO their bundle is worth every single penny. though i'd wait for the right price. you can get them for about 200 something black fridays or their other promos. and you can use them in whatever daw you want.

 

Yeah i think im gonna go for soundtoys i dont depend on soundtoys to be online to use their products unlike reason
