Was using keyscape no problem until today my steam folder is on an external HD. Diagonistcs points to it. But loading Keyscape gives me 'error loading waveform' Occasionally in the past omnisphere would need to be redirected to the steam folder but now I dont get the prompt to do that. How to proceed

 

Go to the directory above your Steam folder so you can see that folder in the Finder. Right click Steam folder, do Make Alias of the Steam folder. Drag the Alias file to where your Omnisphere is looking for it. You can see that folder location if you click the Omnisphere logo, hit the Diagnostics option and it will display the current location where it is looking for Steam.

Don't try doing a symbolic link aka symlink. Just use an alias. I do not have a single symlink on my Mac and I use multiple external drives of this kind of content.

If the alias doesn't work, you probably have something else going on. You could possibly have to delete the zmap file or other fixes that apply to that error you are seeing. Make sure you have set the correct permissions on the drive where /Steam is, and the Steam folder and all subdirectories.
