Hi, I hope you're doing great there. I need help from FL Studio experts.
I did a mistake. I installed discoDSP's OB-XD, but first I installed the vst3 version that was paid.
I ignored it and then installed the vst2 version to move on but... FL studio combined them! and can't choose the vst2 to use it for free...
I'm feeling like a moron right now.

Is there a way to split, uncombine, separate the "vst + vst3" feature? Can I force FL to load the VST2 one?

I'm using version 12 in a low resources laptop for sampling.

Locate the vst3 file and delete it. It is in Program Files' Common Data folder.
Alternatively, uninstall and just install the one you need. (from Control Panel, Programs)

 

Yeah I tried that. I moved the OB XD vst3 folder from the Common Files/VST3 folder and did a rescan. FL still showing up the same. So I'll proceed with the uninstallation. I'll try again from cero if required. Agh...

 

Rescan FL Plugin list. Top Menu > ADD > Refresh plugin list (fast scan)
If this doesn't work, you can remove manually from plugin databse, but uninstall better.

 

A lot of people told me that I couldn't use 2 copies of Avenger but I use both 1 and 2. I just renamed the .vst file Avenger2.vst and left the other as avenger.vst. Works perfectly fine, I don't know if that ould work in your case though but I purchased Avenger 2. I never purchased Avenger 1. It loads both sperately as well, because some of the expansions won't work on Avenger 2.

 

im using 11 for years & find vst3 was steinbergs way forward but dont follow the sheep

What theme is that? I think I'm in love.

 

The fl studio browser gives you the option to select (vst3 plugin) folder destinations by using a right mouse click. Sometimes uninstalled plugins will still show up. Text files i think. You can just delete them.

 

The blue is the original theme for Avenger 2 I think, I didn't change any skins.

 

In the moment you have created 1000 patches you unlock the secret skin .

When you go to "manage plugins" then uncheck "verify plugins" then also uncheck "Combine VST and VST3 versions of a plugin", then go to your "user data" folder (options > File Settings > User data folder), then navigate to here (I'm using my location for the example)

Go to here:
I:\FL User Data\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database\Installed\Generators

And delete all of the OB XD .fst files

Then uncheck "verify plugins" then rescan your plugins, and when they both show up in the scan, click them and name the vst2 and vst3 different (for example, after clicking the plugin from the scan, go to the "name", and put like OB XD for vst2, and OB XD Paid for vst3, and make sure you put the "type" as "generator"

After that, go to
I:\FL User Data\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\VST

And copy the OB XD.fst to
I:\FL User Data\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database\Generators

Then go to
I:\FL User Data\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\VST3

And copy the OB XD Paid.fst to
I:\FL User Data\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database\Generators

After all that, they should both show up as separate plugins under "add" when you go to add a plugin
