It does not show any special feature of Reaper. Just mixing stems of a simple song with third-party plugins as I previously mentioned. Every DAW can do it.:dunno:

    Please don't!
According to your trustworthy fellow Foster ( @Incontro ) Reaper is for people disconnected from reality
And made by old Linux something
    And... stuff

Homie, you don't have to wait for anything. You can download it from the official site and use it as much and as long as you wish.

One thing I've noticed about REAPER is that once you're in it, it's almost painful to use another DAW, even though they're all capable tools. I see converts TO reaper, but almost never away from it.

My suggestion is to keep handwritten notes as you work through the functions, actions, extensions etc... Watch the Kenny Gioia tutorials, browse the forum, and free yourself. But take notes. Really, take handwritten notes.

I get the sense that the only reason it isn't the industry standard is because it used to have a fairly plain GUI, its complete lack of marketing, its reputation as an inescapably technical piece of software, and its late start compared to the giants. And some assholes automatically think a $60 program just couldn't possibly compare to Cubase or Pro Tools. But in my experience, it wipes the floor with them.

So very true! Reaper does Future Psychotic Dubstep, Schizo Neurofunk and Hebephrene House better than any other DAW! I just wish the splash screen wouldn't tell me to "KILL YOURSELF NOW" upon startup, other than that it's by far the very best DAW that I've ever used!

Oh, gotta go...Shakespeare, Robert Hunter and I are supposed to have a writing session this morning and I have to go and put up the coffee, these guys drink like a fucking gallon of it every day!

@kilyohearts You are still very young. You have a lot of time to test and choose different things.

It's a very capable DAW for a good price.

Some of the fanboys are like a cult though, it's weird. Not sure why they're so hell bent on being so passionate about telling everyone how amazing it is. It's almost like they purposely trawl forums to do it.

It's just a DAW that's very capable of making music with, like most others.

When I hear/read; "I use Reaper", I automatically equate it to the phrase; "I'm a vegan". Because for no reason what so ever these phrases just seem to fly out of the afflicted persons brain.

And how often exactly do you read this sentence without the person in question being asked about it directly or indirectly? I mean, apart from memes and people who make a joke based on a meme?

I think not, Reaper devs are delivering a full, paid and supported, reliable product as it is,
while nature of Linux is branching variety of non-standard behaviours

I can agree on that, but that isn't enough to justify Reaper's inferiority or excuse for low value, other softwares also lack elegance imo, but I still like to use them

because form over function is what sells and what marketing people and greedy companies fail to understand

What is Reaper's distinguishing function from its supporters' standpoint?
