Theres some others that have the instance thing. Smart eq, which is great. Seriously awesome plugin. Very simple to use, automatic unmasking and adaptive eqing. Theres also Claro as @shinjiya pointed out, but it sort of sucks. Some others too. Either way, it will be awesome to have it in Pro Q with Soothe. I didnt see SplitEQ features mentioned but hopefully so.

Others too. I tried to like Claro, really tried. It just did not click for me. For one, it was the worst plugin i have as far as performance. The ui was super buggy, laggy and glitchy. Secondly, i just dont think it sounds very good lol, as well as being very limited in terms of features. I dont see how anybody could ever say its better than Pro-q. Its like comparing a honda civic to a ferrari, both will get you there, but one is a heck of a lot faster, more fun to drive, and will get you more ladies :)

I'm aware this is not new feauture on the software world but it's a great add to a plugin that is considered for the most the best eq. I don't like Claro and i think it misses a lot of stuff and SmartEq is just not my favorite option for a channel Eq, since i want the simplest interface for that task. And SmartEq doesn't saturate on the output, so you will need another plugin to make it nonlinear. But i do like balancing busses with SmartEq.

I'm just excited for the amount of plugins i'm going to delete after Pro-Q 4 comes to life :chilling:

I never had any of these issues, but I have a pretty beefy GPU so maybe the graphics are hardware accelerated and your PC might not be on par. But that's not an excuse for a plugin, since others plugins probably work fine for you. Sonnox should just do better in terms of compatibility.

This I don't really understand. Both EQs are pristine clean, and I think Claro does a much better job in making things sound good since the auto gain is perfect. You just hear things the way you changed them without any gain applied or removed.

Yeah I think everyone is missing the standout feature of Claro - the AUTOGAIN. Until you have tried THEIR specific integration of autogain, you have no idea what you're missing out on. This makes Claro an excellent primary EQ and every other EQ a secondary. Admittedly I use Pro-Q3 more than any other EQ, but I am constantly doing Dynamic band work. Since Sonnox seems like one of the worst companies ever when it comes to implementing new features, I am not hopeful that Claro will catch up. If they improved Pro-Q3's already decent autogain in Pro-Q4 then that may be the way to go!

Same! i look forward to having it all in one trusted plugin.

Yah, idk why it performed so poorly for me. I had it on two machines, and both performed terribly! No other plugin i had came even close to the weird UI latency and glitches. I went back and forth with support a while, but eventually just gave up. I know they are both just digital EQ's, and its likely just my imagination, but Claro sounded harsh in the hi's for me.

Claro is an excellent plugin - my cleanest mixes have come from using claro - force yourself to do a whole mix with it then use the disable all instances button to check your mix before and after. its extremely easy to use and its gets you there fast with no fuss or gimmicks. I prefer it than pro-q 3

There was a time when Fabfilter was leading the EQ technology. Now they are catching up to these 100s of different EQ plugins.
Fabfilter is still winning when it comes to balancing the options.

I mean, you don't know how to EQ? Then no, Pro-Q is a terrible choice for a beginner.

    Get Pulsar 8200.

I'm happily married to Kirchhoff, but hear me out
The thing I miss the most is the auto dynamic band, most of the time I'm moving fast and I don't like to set up the whole thing in Kirchhoff so I'll be filling the divorce papers soon

I'm sure we'll all check it out. Nothing much more comes to mind to add to the conversation that has not been asked or answered.

Claro quickly became my go-to EQ when I want a clean digital EQ, with a good workflow. I still go to Pro-Q3 for more detailed, surgical eqing. The main benefit to Claro for me is the 3 tab workflow. I haven't tested it vs Pro-Q3 but it is light on my system, to where I can put it on many channels with almost no cpu impact. The 3 band "Produce" tab is all I even need on most channels as almost everything I am eq'ing are digital sound sources that need shaping and not repair-level changes. When I use the Produce tab, I frequently get it so close to what I want; that when I go to the next tab Tweak, I am barely tweaking anything because I got it right off the bat in the Produce Tab.

The 3rd Tab "Mix" is so convenient for me that I think it is underrated or something. I was watching a Luca Pretolisi video about just some general mixing subject. I watched him going back and forth between pairs of tracks with similar parts, and he was using Pro-Q3 to carve out space for each of the pairs and making complementary to one another instead of masking, clashing, etc. If you had an instance of Claro on each channel, they can be/are added to the Mix page GUI and more controls. It works like iZ Relay instances and mothership plugin workflow. Claro isn't doing anything "better than Pro-Q3", but it makes things easy, visual, and fast.

I think the Sonnox omission of dynamic EQ in Claro is possibly because they already have a separate dynamic EQ product. So they get to sell an extra plugin that way. But when we can get them for $20 something on sale, oh well. If Fabfilter take any influence from Claro for Pro-Q4, good for them. (read: me).

In my experience, the best auto-gain implementation is on Powair by Sound Radix. It's a compressor tho, so different use, but I've never used anything as accurate.

No transient / sustain... big sad. otherwise its good. Its pro q, but instead of 3, its 4

The soothe is nice. In my super quick laptop test it seemed more transparent than soothe, definitely a nice addition. the draw function is fun, but i will never use it. The instances is cool, but i need to figure out how to optimize it. I cant imagine navigating through it with a large session. Im hoping theres groups or color coding or something that i missed. thats all i really got around to, im sure there are some more surprises to find.
