    Hi all,

anyone else experiencing problems with Sequoia running on a M1 Studio using a Focusrite 4i4? The interface isn't detected when booting (but listed in the System Profiler). Unplugging and plugging it back in again works most of the time. The USB-port seems to be ok (temporarily running an "old" Tascam 2x2HR on the same port).

    Cheers,
    Brokka

*Ugh*. Thanks for the heads up! At least that confirms that the interface isn't broken :disco:.

This is the problem "no-one knew about" with a guy on here and his old Octo-Pre and someone from Focusrite signed up here. I looked for that thread yesterday and could not find it, because it is probably deleted.

But the thing they did not like, was that I told them that both Focusrite Control and Focusrite Mix Control software had done this exact same thing when I had an 18i20 MK3 on my Mac which was Mojave at the time. And it actually progressively got worse until I sold it. It will start dropping connection, forcing you to reboot before the system may or may not see the device again. One poster (who may have even been a shill) was saying how nice it was of them to register on here and post, and suggested the guy use the thing as a converter and then hook it to an ADAT i/o.

I wasted more time going back and forth with their tech support blowing me off than I could deal with. Months. I bought a Motu 828 ES, sold their 18i20 and I will never buy another thing from them again.

The interface was not defective, or the person who bought it would have had the same problem with it. Connect it to a PC and the only thing that will still suck is the tin can sounding headphones output. But that is neither here nor there.

Focusrite has the worst driver support ever. Get rid of it!

Try installing the drive in safe mode. Thats what I had to do for my old Steinberg UR22. I still get a warning that my legacy drivers may not be supported in future releases and im on ventura. But it works great otherwise.
