I deleted all of UJAM off my computer so I can do clean installs, but it wont let me delete the local keys for some reason. It says Access denied (5), I've tried to change permissions but that wont wo rk either.

 

try the default windows Registry Editor

Doesn't Revo Uninstaller do all this for you when you remove something?

 

If you haven’t already done so, do the following:

Examplify: Add Administrator Rights to a User Account in Windows 10 or 11

Windows 10 Procedure

1. Log in to the computer by using an administrator account.
2. Select the Windows Start button, and then select Settings.
3. Select Accounts.
4. Select Family & other users.
5. Select the user's name, and then select Change account type.
6. Select Administrator, and then select OK.
7. Log out.

Note: After the admin logs out, the selected user will be able to log in to the computer and will have administrator permissions.

Windows 11 Procedure

1. Select the Windows Start button, and then, select Settings.
2. Select Accounts.
3. Under Family & other users, select the user's name.
4. Then, select Change account type.
5. Under Account type, select Administrator.
6. Select OK.
7. Sign in with the new administrator account.

 

I run it on all of them but there are still key fragments

 

That's weird, it says I am the aministrator but it wouldn't let me delete those local keys

 

Be very careful when deleting anything that contains your SID. Sometimes they are nothing but pointers, though SIDs are part of the fundamental building block of the Windows security model.
If in doubt, export all the S-1-5-21-153...... first before deleting

Be especially careful with all of the shell and backedup apps ones if you have intention to delete.

EDIT
If you are attempting to delete files with your SID in them and are logged in under that SID, it possibly may not let you delete them. You'll need to login as a different administrator to be sure then reboot so the SID you want to delete is not still in memory.. But be absolutely sure it is not going to mess up your system.

Thanks, I'm not really knowledgeable of registry stuff. What about those files I posted above can I delete those?

 

The Anwer is don't delete!

Look under: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

then ujam, if you have found the uJam folder you simply delete the ujam folder

then restart the PC and install new ones

If there is no ujam folder, close the editor and reinstall.

The keys on your picture dont look like UJAM stuff. I would not touch them
Software usualy changes just two dir in the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node

If you click in the default Registry Editor with the right mouse button you can observe the key permissions

 

deleting these won't do harm, dont touch others

 

For clean uninstall, i would BCU uninstaller or similar.
If registry keys are protected, there is a good reason

Same with services : i crashed some computers playing with that

 

Try to get a copy of "Registrar Registry Manager Pro".
It opens the reg hives in elevated mode so you can delete whatever you want.

I once examined a malware which added regkeys with trusted installer rights (highest privileges on windows)
that I couldn't delete even with System rights (above Administrator). With Registrar I was able to finally delete them.

A free solution to this is NSudo. It runs any process with the rights you need.



Here you can select TrustedInstaller and then browse/navigate to the reg editor of your choice.

But you have to be very careful because using this tool, you can delete/modify anything, even system relevant files
that can damage your OS when missing. Same applies to the keys with the SID names (S-1-5-21-...), which are other accounts
on your machine, like the the userprofile "Public" or "Administrator".
But keep in mind: when you run a process with higher privileges, regedit (for example) shows your user account as SID as well.
In CURRENT_USER it then will show the data of the currently privileged user you're running regedit with so CURRENT_USER
might then be the System or TrustedInstaller account. Don't delete anything from there.

Btw. the BagMRU keys contain folder/list settings. If you've uninstalled a software and the folders are gone,
it still stores these informations and when you install the software again, they'll be applied again.
Usually you can delete them safely.

But never delete the whole key on the left side, only the entries on the right side. Otherwise it will delete all your folder settings
which can lead to serious issues.

To find leftover files from anything on your machine, I recommend Everything Search Engine.
It reads the ntfs indexes of all your drives and finds any file as soon as you type its name.
With Everything Toolbar you even can integrate it to the taskbar like it would be the regular windows search.

You can, they're all about recent lists/MRUs. Lists of the files some apps have opened lately.
I don't recommend it though.
