Hi guys, do you know any decent hosting service for a simple portfolio page? I have used HostGator with WordPress, but my experience was not the best. The website was super slow since the beginning.

I am not planning to upload music or any big file to the website, just Soundcloud links, some images, and pretty basic HTML

 

My recommendation is; namecheap

It's even chaeper for your first year and you can try for the first 30 days too.

 

You can also get masked forwarding from namecheap (included in basic domain registration) and host your own website on neocities (free) if that's an option for you.

Wix is expensive (at least to me) and has hidden charges after you subs to it. Meaning the subs price isn't the final, you might want to pay for addition adds on after that can be more than the actual subs price you pay. Website is tricky with plugins and whatnot these days. Tons of em because you kinda need it for some reason, security and all.

Distrokid acquired Bandzoogle that's specific for music portfolio web hosting, not sure about the pricing but I read somewhere, Distrokid now have subs that comes with Bandzoogle that is kinda combo for music distribution + portfolio at considerably low price. To be honest I dont know for sure, you might want to check em up. I'm going to do it in a bit.

I use Godaddy. The site builder is alright, the service is efficient and it's not that expensive. I got the first-three-year bundle and saved me a lot of money.

If only that's the thing you have to pay. Once you pay for that and logged in as premium user, then comes another options for you to pay some more so your website will work properly. I think people that use Wix can explain more and accurately about that because I never signed up for Wix but this is what my close friends told me when he was updating his business website, just 2 weeks ago. He had to add $100 more after paying for the subscription to make sure the e-store and other elements in the website running properly.
