I heard somewhere that expert audio engineers are able to detect if a given audio file includes any subliminal messages.
Do any of you guys happen to be such an audio expert who knows techniques how to 100% confirm that an audio has absolutely no subliminal messages?

I mean detecting subliminals in full mixes and in individual samples.

What I usually do is just play the thing backwards, and if I hear Satan compelling me to do some dreadful act then there's a subliminal message. If not it's just usually a guitar or whatever.

The experts record the song on tape and play it slower and they play it backwards slowly. They then record the messages.

If you listen carefully and you don't hear anything, you can publish it too.

Try a liminal-phase EQ and keep filtering until there's only sub-liminals left - works for me.

 

There's a clever one (not saying it's unique, but the only one that springs to mind) on a Nine Inch Nails track, I think on the Further Down the Spiral EP somewhere. It's a voice (screaming, actually) just repeatedly timestretched till it's way overlong. So if you listen to it normally you can't hear the words but if you fast forward over it you can pick it up.

It's not exactly subliminal, more hidden in plain sight, as it's fairly loud though.

 

I seem to remember there's been a few of them. But it was basically high-tech trolling (back in the day, the reversed ones). Just a joke, no need to overthink them.

 

agreed on the hifi trolling ,at least it fits if looking on that time ,but also just partly ....manson and sort of scientology hippies are not a joke ....
but if the jay z ones are real this no joke most def .

also back when this came up ,ppl were much more aware of how heavy electronic media is able to program thru repeating in subconcoius context not direct info/missinfo.....

If it's audible in any way it's literally not subliminal by definition. And if it's not audible anyway you don't actually hear it so there is no true such thing as subliminal.

Which is quite remarkable. I can't imagine how long you have to tinker with it to make several coherent sentences in a row make sense both forwards and backwards.
