Despite the existence of various digital tools and the ease of working with them, learning those tools and also the nuances of music takes time. How many years do you think it will take you to learn everything you need to make your first professional music? Some genres of music are very complex and have many, many details, and learning them all takes the youth away from people. Unfortunately, the problem of slow learning speed always exists and the more the learning time increases, the more its negative effects become evident in people's psyche. Compare your mood now with a few years ago. You learned many things every day, but this much learning has never made you happy and has increased your stress and mental conflicts. Can you specify a time and say that your learning is complete and you have learned everything you need and now is the time to use what you have learned?

There are kids that are 14 years old making the next big hit on a cracked version of fl studio right now that barely know how to use the program also kids the same age that have insanely powerfull and creative voices , but most people here ( not naming anybody ) alot of them been making music for more than 10 years yet they can't make anything more than mediocre music at best ( i include myself too pls dont come with the talk for yourself attitude becouse the reality is that i am not liying save your salt ) so there's that take it as you wish but you dont need to practice for 10 years to make a hit or sound professional it all boils to whether you have talent or you dont enough said

    Where are those children now?
Excuse me, I ask twice. Can you show me those children?

The reason for this question is that a large amount of processed information must be placed in the brain, then one expects professional music from people. Musical geniuses are exceptions, and maybe one child out of every 10,000 people can be found, and his learning speed is very high, but the prevailing phenomenon is that most of us are ordinary people, and without taking time to learn and meditate, we cannot do professional works professionally. Without learning, One person cannot become successful just by relying on short-cut methods. There is no magic to increase the speed of learning and the amount of information required to become fluent is very high.

    Let me calculate:

    People on Earth 8000000000/10000

results in 800000 geniuses. Should be more than enough to provide all the professional services needed.

Foster, we only stop learning when we die. Even if we do mediocre music, the ride itself is the reward. Enjoy the ride.

Theoretically in the true definition of the word professional, if you're making a living from it then you're a professional so age doesn't really come into it. If you mean how long will it take to learn everything there is to know? As someone insinuated, music is a journey and every great player in touch with reality has said much the same thing. That being that they wish they had several hundred years more because the more they learn, the more there is to learn. So in Demloc's words ,enjoy the ride.

Becoming a professional in this field only takes a few YouTube videos, so if you're slow at learning, I'd say 30 minutes.

I've been doing this for nearly 40 years (it is my profession), and I have a PhD in audio technology, but I'm still learning. Every day is a school day.

You must have at least 10.000 hours of certified musical studies, registered by a Professional Musician Association certified time-tracking app that takes screenshots and records audio snippets randomly four times an hour.

After that, you can call yourself a Professional Junior Musician, and PMA will grant you a certificate that allows you to create professional Junior-level music.

For Senior-level music, you'll have to do more 5.000 hours and pay a fee of 12,000 USD.

This is valid only for the US and Canada. If you want to be a professional musician in Europe, it's a completely different process. The UK has a distinct certification program too, after BREXIT.

Again, it is not clear from the OP text what it means to be a professional and what world of music he is talking about (when asked, time and time again, what he considers worthy of appreciation, he never managed to offer a single example!). But for the sake of general understanding, based on his usual pedantic and prejudiced comments (dedicated to the commentary of a track composed by member Downald - https://audiosex.pro/threads/chasing-horizons-cinematic-orchestral.77985/#post-811516), I will replicate the message that exemplifies his smug and overly didactic perspective on life:

Your music is a kind of worn-out cliche. (...) These musics usually don't create many emotions in the listener. You may get the deep admiration of some people because of the way you used orchestral instruments, but musically it is nothing but noise and simple repetitive patterns.(...)
Orchestral music (which you put your music under this category) should be something that AI cannot recreate. But unfortunately, due to the lack of familiarity of film music writers with real orchestral music, the final music made by them doesn't express anything special and usually harass the listener more than making them feel good.

So, his post strikes me as a beautifully tragic cocktail of venting and existential poetry —
as if the OP is airing his grievances while subtly mourning his role as the eternal misfit in this chaotic carnival he dare to call the world of music!

    In short:
    Ridi Pagliacci (F[tr]O[ll]STER)...

Nah more, maybe a couple of months?

I'm honestly in a worry for him, he has certainly serious problems, but I admit that it's almost impossible not going hard with him. I fall in the trick when I didn't know him, but won't do again because I really think it could be dangerous for his metal health and equilibrium. Whish him all the best, sincerely. Better ignore.

If it is, indeed, a psychological issue, I agree with you. BUT (and here, understand a big BUT), I know postmodern composers who defend the avant-garde aesthetic attitude of provoking discussions and discomfort as a means of reflection (shocking the audience), yet they don’t make a living from the music they write (they’d starve) and are professors in higher music education institutions. They distinguish themselves by criticizing mass culture (lowbrow music) and glorifying high culture (primarily postmodern music, especially concert music). Some of these real pieces of work said: "—I joined an EDM discussion list and totally messed things up! I trashed the genre, the style, and pissed off all the group members with my questions. As for the arguments they presented, poor things, those slaves to mass culture think they're thinking and appreciating good music" (and the person continued laughing in a mocking tone... I found that depressing: a group of 2 teachers and 4 students dedicating something as precious as their life’s time to criticize things and people in order to preach their own line of thought!). In this group of pretentious music culture thinkers, this type of criticism is absolutely common. I get the impression this is a similar case, for his type of recurring criticism and cause I’ve seen it happen before.
