I am sorting out the user sound banks that come with the official Arturia sound banks and there are some folder called Prophet V3 and then prophet V5. Will the V3 presets work show up if I have Prophet V5?

Hello, I just checked in Prophet-V & Prophet-VS whether the files from V3 are shown and whether you can search for individual presets from them, no luck!
Actually you can delete the folder! Maybe if you have Analog Lab you can check whether the presets appear there.

It's to my memory (which may be wrong, so apologies if so), I remember around 10 years ago when Arturia made some big shift in how they handled presets or something in their underlying structure, can't remember what it was exactly), in that all previous presets (I believe from V1-V3), would no longer work with V4 and higher versions... they had some kinda of preset converter app or something, and they warned about it, but there definitely was a change... I could be wrong in that it changed after V2, not V3. (and that actually sounds like what it was given the timing and my memory), so it may not effect you with V3 presets, ...and worth giving a try... I've been able to open up older presets from my older versions of Artura just fine with latest... but there was a cutoff point for that with way older systems/presets...

And sorry, thinking out loud here, and s-clogging the thread, but I think you should be fine, as I do believe it was the transition from V2 to V3 in which that happened...

But there is the added issue here of the Prophet V and the Prophet VS were once packaged in one product and have since diverged right? In which case I imagine there are other problems as many patches were a result of a hybridization of the 2 engines.... so... it is a bit different then many of their other products...


Nothing to lose by trying at least, and if they don't work, you can easily remove them....
