    Serious question i want a workstation vst synth that doesnt need ethernet to authorize neither ilok or any kind of dongle , does something like this even exist ? to everybody that answers thanks

    What do you mean with ethernet to authorize, you mean challenge/response system?
    Can you also clarify what workstation means in this instance, those 90s rompler kind of things or just something capable of covering widest synthesis types while having the option of doing sample based acoustic ones? If later, how important is to have acoustic sounds and sample import?

    I mean an actual modern workstation vst something like vps avenger 2 , parawave rapid , uvi falcon 3 but without the requirements i mentioned before just with a serial and offline activation

    There are so many vst on sister site which register without any dongle internet or whatsoever..just browse and search what u want...nuff to pick from

    What kind of music you do? :mates:

    I used Zebra for years like essentially glorified preset player (it can go so much deeper then that), ambient, commercials, documentaries, EDM, hip hop/trap and etc. Luftrum, Arksun, Joseph Hollo, got so much out of their few banks it's beyond amazing. Now you get ZebraHZ too, it's amazing deal, key file license, great support, amazing stuff. Linux, Windows, macOS, low budget, laptop, desktop, old, new, everything.

    Brother, that's why I asked him to clarify and his response falls in line with capable jack of all trades synth, asked so much question before i recommended anything, no challenge/response, no iLok, yeah, personally I can vouch for Zebra, it's essentially great synth, not workstation one, but it ticks all his boxes. :mates:

    Pretty much any group release on sisite will fit your bill. Just select the one you want and grab it. Personally, never use anything that isn't cracked which makes running a audio/video production workstation WITHOUT an internet connection totally possible. If you insist on keeping a production machine connected to internet you might need to block some stuff in FW or host file but that's about the extent of the imposition. With legit stuff you're just shooting yourself in the head being forced to deal with all the ilok, codemeter, pace, dongle b.s....

    Well. Workstation class hardware sampler/synth examples are the Yamaha Montage, Roland Falcon, Korg Nautilus, Akai MPC fits in there too, etc etc.
    Workstation means they can replace a small studio and you can build a whole song in just one machine. So they should have:
    - Multi-timbral synth (or sampler or both) engine with high polyphony
    - Separate Drums and Percussion engine
    - Multi FX engine
    - Samples import/playback capability (From 2k and on)
    - Onboard sequencer
    - Multiple audio outputs
    For the software workstations it is the same minus the sequencer obviously, as VSTIs are meant to be used within one anyway. With the exception of the software AKAI MPC and NI Maschine that both can function as sequencers too, albeit limited compared to something like Cubase etc.
    So now that i got this out of the way, Rapid, Zebra, Spire are not workstation synths. Omnisphere is 90% a workstation as it lacks a drum engine and sample/wavetable import -although supported- is a bit tedious, i will not expand more on this since i own it from when it was Atmosphere v1.0 lol. With that said there are various third party drum libs for Omni.
    From all mentioned only Montage, Avenger and Falcon fit the soft workstation description. So for the OP i will add NI Kontakt. And i wonder why people never refer to it as the fucking huge sampling workstation it is. Perhaps because it can be intimidating with all the thousands libs around?? Beats me.
    Oh and Avenger just like Omni is only 8 parts multi-timbral for more you need another instance opened so not a 100% workstation too but manageable for certain genres.
    What's with the Pro Music Audio moniker @ caps mate. You should excuse my manners, but it should read Amateur Music Noob lol. That is legit in caps. Aaaahh anyway forgive me, i shouldn't be so harsh on you lad, here:
    Arguably, just like Reaktor is the mother of all soft synths, Omnisphere is the mother of all sample playback soft synths. And because of that it has a learning curve. The problem won't be if you can make sounds with it, the problem for guys like you i bet start right at the beginning, since to hear just its main library quickly will take you a month or 3 weeks of intensive browsing sounds 5-6 hrs daily. Omnisphere 2.8 basic library has 14806 sounds spanned in 9223 patches (a patch can have 4 different layers of sounds and Omni can play 8 patches simultaneously in one instance). It will probably take another month or two to learn how to fully utilize its almost unlimited sound creation and manipulation potential, if you already are familiar with general synth parameters and functions. So yeah it's fkn awesome but not for the faint of heart lol.

    Realize two things if you're going to put yourself thru the torture of dealing with "legit"-ware. EVERYTHING has to be authorized. Some will even require a persistent internet connection to remain active. But in pretty much all cases you crap around "authorizing" all this stuff and all you're really doing is keeping their databases full of PII (personal identifiable information) which they sell to the highest bidder to make additional profit. On the user side in most cases (there are exceptions but not many) if you replace or upgrade the production machine in any way you'll end up having to deal with a shitstorm of "authorization" bullshit all over again.

    You mentioned Omnisphere before. Being well acquainted with the process for that one, it requires a network connection (not necessarily from the production box) to complete the auth/challenge process wherein they issue you a machine ID on install and you have to connect to the mothership and give them your MID and they issue you a challenge code to paste into the instrument reg page. With the cracked release you have a keygen and in 2 minutes you're done. They don't require constant connecting to the mothership, but significant changes to the system will trigger re-auth scenarios.

    As I said before, "authorizing" is pretty much universal for any software that is being sold for $$$ - even the cracked releases. The difference is for the cracked release you can save your hard earned cash for something else you really need, and you won't need a internet connection (or stupid dongles) on your production machine to make it work.

    Your question as to "does something like this exist" is answered with a NO - it doesn't exist in the legit-ware world, but it does exist for the most part in the warez world. I mean you might be able to find some lame software thing somewhere that is "free" and doesn't require any sort of authorization at all, but I'll guarantee it's a POS and not worth your time.

    Talking about Digital Workstations Reaper is a good free one. But i think that the OP is looking for a Synth or a Rompler.

    Also there are good free Plugins that can fill all your needs and beeing Way better coded than a lot of the Commercial Stuff.

    A lot of Stuff which came out of the KVR Developers Contests is fire and free.

    The Full Buckst Stuff is all coded in C++ to run smooth even on older Systems.

    If you want something modern without the need of a Internet Connection just pick the Synth or Rompler that fits your needs buy a License and than use the cracked Version of it.

    Workstation synths were originally called that, because you could sit down and create an entire song on it. Onboard sequencer, librarian/editor for patches and patch/layers/zones management, dedicated FX section and drums. They would have a good amount of features/sounds that make them also be a digital stage piano. That use case is why many of them are 61 keys minimum, and weighted keys (or close). Generally they are too big and heavy to put on a desk or a-frame keyboard stand; so you will often see them on floor stands by themselves. The onboard sequencer should be a full featured sequencer. This is also why high polyphony is important. General MIDI on most any of them.

    If I wanted a "workstation" answer for the original thread topic, it would be one of those big clunky ones emulated, or in Kontakt. Fantom, Triton, 01/W, Kronos, Montage. If I had to pick one modern thing only to do it all? Falcon.
