Hello , my friend has asked me to clean up some old video audio, which has been overclipped ,distorted, doesn't sound nice at all . Ive got acon restoration suite & waves noise plugins..which im struggling to still remove the distortion & mic feedback... Ive been told to try iZotope RX but i think the audios too damaged... any advice?

 

I would do as you did and try iZotope RX. iZoptone has probably written one of the best algorithm.

and steinberg spectralayers if you know how to handle it .
viewing 1-2 tuts on youtube for that both programs and that matter wont be wasted time but rx is great even never touched the manual or having restoration knowledge .
imo kick everything and get rx . i think there are 1 or 2 more advanced software for restoration but these are more for people know this stuff very well .

stereo tool has good declipper too....for this the unpropper warez should be enough .

Hello @DJ PUKKA, the piece probably can't be saved completely. I would use iZotope Rx, which has an AI and edit the vocals with " Vocal Plosive Distortion Removed " with RX De-plosive. Spectralayers and Wavelab have good de-clip module, in Wavelab you can manually redraw the waveform little by little if the automatic fix didn't satisfies you.
