Btw, before you try another version you need to completely wipe out all traces of Ableton, otherwise it will just pick up from where you had left it with all the preferences and file structure intact.

 

It's all about the sound but it really grinds my gears it isnt working as it should im not buying standart this christmas as i planned i know ableton doesnt care but i cared nothing suits my needs better than ableton and its sad to see it doesnt work how it has to work

My plan to solve the problem is:

1.) Buy Ableton for Christmas
2.) Delete the old version completely

I have attached the solution to the problem as a file, print it out or keep it on your PC. Christmas is in about a month.

 

Inserting a NI Instrument Plug-in
Third party plug-in instruments, including NI plug-ins, must be loaded in an empty MIDI track.

1. If the Browser is not visible on the left-hand side of Live's user interface, click the Show / Hide Browser button in the upper-left corner of Live's window.
   
2. In the Browser CATEGORIES, click the Plug-ins label to access the third party plug-ins. These will be grouped by plug-in format: Ableton Live supports Audio Units and VST on Mac systems, but only VST on Windows systems.
   
3. Click the triangle next to the plug-in format you wish to use to display the available plug-ins. Locate the plug-in you want to use in the list. Here, we want to insert FM8 as an instrument plug-in.
   Note: If you cannot find any plugins here, please read this article to learn how to manage your plug-ins in Ableton Live.
   
   
   Note: Ableton's Plug-ins Browser displays all available plug-ins (i.e. both instruments and effects). Instrument plug-ins can be differentiated from effect plug-ins by the "keyboard icon" next to the plug-in's name (see example image below).
   
   
4. Once you have located the NI plug-in instrument you want to load, drag and drop it to an empty MIDI Track.

Seems you don't really understand the problem. Doing it this way is simply not what the OP wants, it's not aesthetic, breaks his workflow, makes him hate Ableton and stop using Live. Anyway, it's his decision.

Im Massivley confused!!

The default set when loaded always has a couple audio n midi tracks preloaded that without deleting you cannot reassign to accept for example "An instrument such as a synthesizer being dropped into an audio track or visa versa

This is why the "Insert Midi" option is availiable /or a simple drag n drop /whatever you want below the default tracks, so whats the quandry here??

Unless im misunderstanding then im not trying to be abrubt but your problem is due to you not using /understanding the architecture of live

also why arent any there instances of plugs being dropped into the arrangment view "Which corresponds into the secondary live view" Also thus negating said issue

Why not just read comments? I guess it wouldn't take much longer than typing?

The quandary is about THE BLANK SPACE meaning to the right in the Session View or below in the Arrangement View. Kind of easy to understand if you ask me.

 

Why does it work for everybody else? One thing I can think of is that you've updated Live to the same folder as your previous versions thus maybe funked with the program & resource folders or/and .dlls. I usually delete WebConnector and InstallHelper exes so that Ableton wouldn't seek to the web and download updates without my permission for example. Maybe you've done something similar to your previous versions or got some folder in read only mode and thus it didn't update properly and you got that glitch.

Maybe, maybe not, maybe you're just fooling around and wasting yours and everyone else's time

 

I think i found the culprit guys i installed windows 11 on this pc with an usb with rufus i think rufus is what is causing the problem could rufus be the cause ? please let me know i installed with rufus since my cpu is an i7 7700K and doesnt have a tpm chip

No, it's not Rufus or TPM, it's a "USER ERROR" we've attached a few pictures for you, look at the pictures / instructions we posted here and take your time step by step and you'll see your DAW and your PC are completely fine! i did skimp on reading more detailed comments i admit

 

you have to be trolling. people have given you a solution. Ableton is far from being "full of errors". even if this was a bug, its a stupid simple one, its not breaking the program or indicating ableton is full of errors.

For what its worth, i have had this problem, when i have an audio track selected, then click on a vsti, it will load it on a new track, as demonstrated in your video, but it still thinks im on an audio track. its as simple as deleting the plugin from the newly created track, and then dragging it back on. Not sure why your warning is in spanish, unless you chose spanish when installing the software.

 

weird, i always though programs with error were unstable and would crash a lot, ableton actually anticipates user errors by not crashing when doing a dumb in their program and just telling the user he/she/they is a brainless idiot. it could've also simply not do anything when doing the dumb but i guess they enjoy putting end-users that don't know the difference between an instrument track and an audio track in their place.

 

If you want the latest Ableton 12 to use for your DAW then get rid of that thing you have there - and I mean completely RID of it. Then install the Ableton Live Suite v12.1 Incl Keygen-R2R version and enjoy. Most likely you have some sort of bastardized demo-like thing there that isn't good for much, OR you are running a live internet connection on your production machine. Ableton will attempt to contact the mothership so make certain you remove the net connection to that machine, OR at the very least firewall it off so it can't phone home.
