KLU works normally in Sonoma and Sequoia for me. Is your Sonoma installation OK ?

Mainly, you are missing the "Service Center" folder . You are correct, KLU SHOULD create it when you first run it if it can't find it, and it usually does ! I don't know how it missed doing so on your computer.
The good news is that you can easily do this manually. You will need to open your computer hard drive (Macintosh HD by default if you haven't renamed it) and then double-click the Library folder. In that folder you will find "Application Support" and in that you'll find "Native Instruments". It's in this folder that there should be a "Service Center" folder. If it isn't there, create a new folder and call it "Service Center" (without the quotes). That should fix the "There is no Service Center folder" dialogue in KLU. The "Install this library in Kontakt" button in KLU should now work without issue.

Thank you Fred for your reply and the workaround!

Actually, I have used the Kitty script and suddenly, almost every library appeared in KLU. And in Kontakt 8. Happiness :)

Now, some are not appearing like the Galaxy Vintage D for instance. Probably too old. Do you know how I could install these older libraries in Kontakt 7 or 8 by any chance?

For oldest libs, included those from the pre NICNT era, you need a K 5.6.x standalone to add them. (latest K 5 version with add library button = 5.6.6)

    Thanks Belalugosi,

But it seems impossible to install Kontakt 5 on a Mac M1 on Sequoia.
    Is there any other way?

Hello there! First of all, I would like to thank you on behalf of all pirates arrrgh! Seems to be an amazing work you are doing, but for some reason it isn't working for me? I'm using the latest 2.4.0 version, using Monterey MacOS on an Intel Macbook Pro 2012 (using OpenCore Legvacy Patcher). I am try to add libraries to Kontakt 7.10.5 from HCiSO release...it says that it installs in the KLU and shows in the list, but not in Kontakt? When I then go to manually add the library (after adding with KLU), it shows as demo! I will try a re-install on Kontakt (maybe an earlier version?), perhaps it didn't "K" properly... Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

Please excuse me if I'm asking something I should know already. My objective is sinmply to move exixting and functioning Kontakt libraries (the data folder, not the VST of course) to an external SSD drive, in order to save space on the internal one. Is your tool capable to help me in that? Of course the libraries are both legit and K'd, this is why I think I can't use Native Access. The problem is to make Kontakt 8 (or 7) to point to the right location. Thank you for your help

Path to the libraries location is stored inside plist files in (main Library) Preferences/ called com.native-instruments."name of the library".plist

You can open them in a plist editor and change the location path one by one or, more conveniently, load all the plists K libs related all together in BBEdit and change the path in one shot.

(belalugosi answered while I was typing this, and I certainly do not disagree with what they are saying at all... if you are comfortable editing the plist and changing the location path there, absolutely.... Since I haven't done it that way, and I've only had to do this a handful of times for libraries, my method is different, but his is right on, I will definitely look into trying his way next time I have to do a mass exodus or relocation job as absolutely faster...)

I would recommend "removing" the libraries one at a time that exist on your your internal drive via KLU2 (where you drag the library in question from it's location and click the "Remove this library" box/dialog, THEN dragging and dropping the library from it's current location to your external SSD if it is not already there, THEN RE ADDING it via KLU2 by dragging the library as you normally would, and clicking the "Install" or "Add" this library dialog.

That removes the linked dependancies from KLU2 and deals with NI's xml's/plists etc and how it looks for what is there, and then reestablishes the library with fresh updated information on it's location.

It's slower, and perhaps you could just try and remove them all one by one and then batch add (as that functionality exists in KLU2), but I've done some hard drive shuffling myself, and I've found the slow and more laborious approach to work flawlessly every time, and my goal is to have a consistent working Kontakt/KLU2 marriage with no detritus or confusion for Kontakt in it's under the hood workings in looking for certain files in certain places.

Note: I have NEVER had to open Native Access for anything.

Thank you so much belalugosi and sisyphus for taking the time to helping me. I'll try both ways

UPDATE: I began with sisyphus method and a few libraries; after some effort (first time I use KLU2) I could successfully move the libraries. Unfortunately, they work fine in Kontakt 7 but Kontakt 8 can't reach the moved files.

Edit: I checked with belalugosi method and the paths are good.

UPDATE 2: regarding Kontakt 8, I learned from the Web that Kontakt 8 generates json files in the register (Windows version) and if if you change location these json files are not updated, so you have to remove them and let Kontakt 8 generate them again at the first reboot. I don't know if there is some connection between Windows behaviour and MAC but...that's it for your information.

Hello, I’m a beginner with production and kontakt, but I’m starting to go deep. I’ve downloaded few libraries and some has the installation file, so they automatically appear in KLU and Kontakt and I have no problem. For the others there are only the NICNT files with library data, instrument, samples, ecc..When I try to install them in in the NICNT window of KLU it recognize them but if I press on “install this library” nothing happens. I’ve spent a week on the forum to find a solution but found nothing. Could you help me? Thank you so much in advance!

hi. i'm new on this threads. Thanks for your work!
    i have a little question:
inserted this library through your software, it worked before. I accidentally deleted the folder and now I can no longer find it in the list or even delete it. I can't even put it back in. I can view the new ones.

do you have any suggestions? clearly I don't have native access....

    thanks
    I use kontakt 8, macbook pro m4pro

Define "accidentally deleted" ? The folder isn't inside the basket ? If yes, put back it in the original location.
Third option: reinstall. Preferences files and xml file in Service Center folder still there soothe library should show up again.

BTW: what's the sense to quote the OP post ? Was more than enough us "@Fred Bloggs".
Subscribers of this topic like me, do receive an huge email thinking Fred did an update, lol.
Please consider to edit your post getting rid of the quoted msg, thanks.
