I will resume whats happening so i installed ableton 12 lite becouse i got a license from my focusrite solo 3rd gen
so i go ahead install it then i drop the parawave rapid vst on to the blank space and in the bottom part an orange bar appears saying in spanish : solo pueden insertarse efectos de audio en una pista de audio and im like what is this i've contacted ableton and they dont even know what the h*** is going on if anybody has a fix or could help me let me know thanks

I don't have said plugin but looks like it's confused as to what type of plugin it is.

 

It also happens with any vst instrument legal or cracked this is making me crazy i need to fix it

 

Have you tried completely removing Ableton and reinstalling it?

Sure it can, at least of version 10 onwards. There might've been some version earlier that didn't, but that hasn't been true for years.



*edit:* You can also drag FX to MIDI/Instrument tracks, they just won't do anything until there's an instrument there. What you can't do is to drag an instrument plugin to an audio track.

Could it be barfing because synth vst was dragged over an audio track? It doesn't make much sense but I feel there's a disconnect somewhere or a bug in the Lite licensing.

 

Rapid has 2 versions : an instrument and an effect. Make sure you're using the right one.

I know it is basic, but...are you sure you are dropping it into the right place?

Vst Effects into Audio tracks
Vst Instruments into Midi tracks.

I've contacted them through facebook chat no answer yet cant access support becouse i have the lite version this sucks ableton needs to step up their game im currently doing a bad bunny remix in fl studio 24 glad i bought a license last year ableton is the best daw to record vocals fl is a pita i was planning to upgrade to live standart this christmas if they dont fix my issue they are gonna lose a customer

 

Did you make sure that you are using the correct version of Rapid, like @phenomboy said?

The instrument version will only work on instrument tracks. The effect version should work on both instrument and audio tracks, but I'm guessing that you are trying to use the instrument version?

 

You're making it really difficult for us to help you. Please try what others have explained to you, and since it works for others then perhaps the problem is at your end?

In saying that, I highly doubt Ableton support (go through the official support by the way, not Facebook) will be able to give you much more.

I tested Rapid, it works without errors, see attached pictures.

1.) Load Ableton DAW --> File - New Live Set
2.) Go to Plugins --> Parawave --> Rapid
3.) Mark Rapid and Select Rapid and drag it into the lower free area of the DAW
(Drop an Instrument or Sample Here)
4.) If that doesn't work, restart the DAW and try a different plugin.

 

Hello @ArticStorm, I got the Lite version when I bought a piece of hardware. I only use it to test plugins that don't work anywhere else and to answer questions from users. It's fast and slim. Quick to install and quick to delete.

Like you, I'm always in favor of buying full versions or downloading one to test before you buy it. Why should you limit yourself with a Lite version? Life is far too short for that. A Lite version is certainly useful for testing and practicing.

 

This message appears when you try to load a VSTi on an audio track.
You need to drop instruments on a MIDI track. Maybe check out the manual or some YouTube videos if you are new to Live
