Hello

I wondered if any of you could direct me to where I can get the most recent version of Kontakt Library Utility from that will work with Kontakt 8 (8.0.0)

I have Kontakt library Utility 2.3.1 but when I add libraries through it, they don't show up in Kontakt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I haven't installed Kontakt 8 yet myself as haven't had need, but others are using KLU 2.x just fine with V8 as reported. (although admittedly 2.4 was created prior to Kontakt 8)

There are some pita elements to V8 that may require addressing certain things in different folders, but the conversation on that is either to be found in the releases on the sister site depending on who the source is you installed (whether it be HCiSO or a Moira release etc), and in the aforementioned thread... as there have been some problems for some, and Fred Bloggs himself said he is looking into it to make some adaptations, as NI once again screwed the pooch with a lot of things in their relentless greed of their tech bro ownership....

But others who have found problems seem to have found workarounds, and I've seen them discussing them on sister site in the threads etc.

 

Well I have just downloaded a newer version, which is 8.1.0 by HCiSO and that has Kontakt Library Utility 2.4.0

Yeah, HCiSO is my preferred Kontakt as well, (although, still on last V7 because I'm not convinced yet that it is all copacetic with previous tools etc and I don't need anything V8 gives right now), but sometimes HCiSO doesn't have the LATEST version of KLU included in their releases for a host of reasons, and they mainly provide those as a courtesy, and even they recommend checking for that elsewhere (like the link I provided) if possible...

I'm glad the "Add Library" tool is working fine for you though, and hopefully there won't be any more issues...

 

Well I now have the issue of missing thumbnails and when I use the kontakt library utility it tells me there is no wallpaper on those libraries

 

Yeah, I don't even use that shilltastic browser they introduced, and pine away for their old database management and file/folder location setup etc...

I don't think Kontakt 8 is ready for prime time personally, especially as a k'd version, and why I am personally staying away from until the dust has settled and either Fred Bloggs or someone else has got it sussed with the way NI is shuffling around different assets underneath the water.

V7 works fine for me and no problems thus far, and I don't need their new libraries for anything.... but there will come a time I'm sure..

Just for me, and an active working system, I saw no reason to update, and I've been using Kontakt for decades now, so if it ain't broke... and it seems some stuff is easy to get broke in v8 currently as it stands without additional tools finished being developed...
