Hmm, interesting. I do love Nexus as well and I am a "loyal" customer for over 10 years. My first thoughts are that they should've done this with N4 tbh. On the other hand, it seems they are trying to make it more like Avenger (I guess) which is odd because it's the same people behind both plugins.
Anyways $79 isn't too bad for an upgrade price and this certainly is an upgrade. Seeing EDM 10 and Melodic Techno 3 isn't going to spare my wallet either...

 

Same sound designer - Vengeance Sound, but not the same developer. Avenger is developed by Keilwerth.

As someone who doesn't own Nexus, this actually looks quite promising. Switching from a more rompler-type plugin to more of a tweakable synth is a great direction.

 

Just saw the announcement in my mail. Yeah, N5 will have some long awaited features and I'm definitely going to upgrade.

Not all patches are designed by Manuel Schleis.

I'm lucky enough to try the beta, and it's actually pretty awesome. They also listened to many community-requested features, like the N2 skin. (I even wished for the missing Christmas packs from 2021 and 2022 to avoid a "gap" between 2020 and 2023, and they delivered.)

However, I wasn't around during the period when the company was apparently difficult, and there was a time when the expansions sounded too basic to be worth paying for. But expansions like "Vintage Synths" are amazing and crafted with love.

 

A question for you, dear beta tester, do you know how and if you can create your own presets and how that works or do I have filters and envelopes and effects and maybe oscillators like Saw Sine Square and Triangle. I read somewhere that version 4.5 already goes from rompler to synthesizer. That would be great and can you also download a demo of version 5?

 

Where does all the community related stuff happen?

 

You can use basic waveforms, wavetables, and now also the samples from all expansion packs. You can import your own samples and create different layers, each with its own effects and multiple oscillators, wavetables, and more. There are various manipulation options, and for samples specifically, there are cool features like grain and cloud. As far as I know, there’s no demo version—I don’t think they offer one.

I have fun with it and I especially like the FX! Also, I feel like sharing this is OK now because it's officially announced.

In the reFX Facebook group, that the only reason i use FB anymore.

 

Thank you @VSKZ for the valuable and useful information, I'm in a really good mood right now, finally something is happening for the users. reFX made a really great plugin with the Vanguard, unfortunately only in 32 bit (back then with Markus Krause from Tone2), the old quadriSID is also a good sounding plugin.

Please tell me you can change the nexus 2 skins if not please tell refx to include the skins

 

Don't forget Vanguard 2. That is 64bit.

 

Yeah, for me, some of their products are really nostalgic. That's also why I like the n2 skin, reminds me of the first time i started to make music.

Currently, only the default. I can ask, but there are some other UI and workflow-related things that I find more important to prioritize. Also, I'm just a small beta tester, so no promises that it will work out.

 

Please ask them having all the nexus 2 skins is essential

i see is more flexible, the question is how many activations? hopefully they give at least 2 activations, i wish

 

I think they already cover 3 activations? I have two activated at the same time, studio and home studio.

 

To you, and many other people. Obviously though, they charge whatever the market will bear. They are on v5 and still have lots of customers.
