    Hi,

I don't find the hornet vu to be accurate. Maybe i'm wrong. What do you use for gain staging?

if you have and know the accuracy better, why dont u gain stage it manually? it just a twist of a virtual knob. because all auto-gain plugin just can give u a suggestion at the very best ballpark.

I use the HoRNet VU Meter MK4 as a reference point, but this tool is very effective and eases my job in most of my projects ( video post-production).

By the way, watch the tutorials.

While it's true, I have to listen to the track first -- whole of it. If it's just for a couple of bars, i need to do the clip gain prior -- especially for vocals and even gain riding it after. Hence why.

It should be simple: analyze the dynamic range, set the middle ground, and reach the target level.

I've clicked the auto button and whatnot. Played the whole track. It sets it for you of course (I can hear the level changes), but after I checked with a VU meters plugin, it missed the 0 VU target. I use VUMT form Klanghelm BTW.

The VUMT is not expensive and Klanghelm always does a good job.

There is no trial for n-console unless you go to the sister site if it is still there. Good gain staging should be done manually. Sorry I did not realize you wanted the plugin to do everything for you. It can do multiples though and if you get it where you think most of your projects have a good gain staging starting point, you can save your settings, so it is 'kind of' automatic once you get it right.
